Let me make this short and sweet. Unless you are having cosmetic surgery, don't waste your time or your money. Her only interest in dermatology is to collect money for cosmetic surgery. If you go in for any other problem, she will listen, look at you, then tell you it is nothing and rush you out. I've been on both sides, so I know.

How can a problem with the skin not be a skin problem? I have a cyst within the skin and this doctor refers me to an ENT. The ENT then tells me its a skin problem. What a waste of time!!

This dermatologist either could not or would not help me with my dermatological issue. It was a bad experience and i had to go to another doctor to get my issue addressed.

A dermatologist is a doctor who has extensive training and knowledge of the skin and treats conditions that affect those areas. They will evaluate any abnormality, blemish or lesion on the skin in order to determine the cause and will determine a course of treatment. Dr. Hawayek did not fit this definition during my appointment with her.

Needed help with a condition clearly in her listed/publicized area of expertise, and left her office as clueless as when I walked in.

Two weeks to get the appointment, 30 minutes waiting beyond the scheduled appointment time, 5 minutes with the doctor clearly in a rush to move on (did not listen to my concerns), $40 co-pay for her "specialist" status, went home empty hand and definitely unsatisfied...not to mention with an unaddressed medical issue.

Paid in time and money, and literally walked away with nothing. Must be nice to be a doctor running a cha-ching patient conveyor belt practice. Disappointing for the patients in need though.
