Dr. Lance F Caffiero, MD

Dr. Caffiero was the podiatrist for both my mother and I who are both diabetics. About two years ago, I had a cut on my foot that developed into an infection. I couldn't get in for an appointment with him. I was told to send in a picture of the sore. He said it doesn't look like its infected. Soak it in warm water and epsom salts. I went to urgent care because I was in pain and the foot was infected. Fast forward two years later, my mother was complaining about foot pain. Her toe was turning dark. Again, we were told to send in a picture. Again, Dr. Caffiero said it doesn't look infected, but called in an anit-biotic and told her to soak it in warm water and epsom salt. Again, the toe was infected. Not only was it infected, but there was no blood flow to the toe. That was never a referral by Dr. Caffiero to a vascular specialist. As a result, my mother had her toe partially amputated. As doctor, he isn't thorough.
