Dr. Lance Douglas Clawson, MD

Dr. Clawson has made such an incredible difference in my life. I’m not sure I’d be here without his intervention and caring treatment. I am living a normal life that I never thought would be possible for me. I would highly recommend him.

Both my childand and I have seen Dr Clawson. His diagnosis has been accurate and he is very knowledgeable about medications and side effects. He has gone over and above on multiple occasions to help us. He takes the time to explain, when we have questions. His staff have always been friendly and helpful. When he is using the computer, he is entering info in the electronic medical records, not emailing other patients.

He seems good until you realize that your kid is on multiple medications without medication holidays. We finally left Clawson and found a new doctor who recommended starting with a clean slate. We went off all meds. Turned out that they were not necessary. I don't know how Clawson earned his reputation, but he massively failed our family and cost us a lot of money in the process. Sometimes it's just adolescents.

Strong knowledge of pharmacology, but has difficulty keeping track of medication history and current doses. Better in the realm of prescribing than therapy, where he seems distracted and disengaged. Not the worst out there, but certainly not the best.

He has treated me and my children. He's been on-target with both diagnosis and treatment and gives his patients time to ask questions and get needed information. I consider every dollar spent a good investment in my family's health!

Treating our son for ADHD, Dr. Clawson prescribed a panel of meds, which required some adjustment, but he never initiated those discussions - instead waiting for the situation to erode before acknowledging that some tweaking was required. For the money, I expected someone more engaged. Also, we asked for some referrals for psychotherapists for our son and were referred to a number of really substandard clinicians. Either Clawson is not connected with the best in the area, or my family didn't meet his standards for top-line referrals. We wasted thousands on these clowns. Finally, while Clawson does communicate via email (a plus), he often does so while seeing patients, which seems pretty unprofessional when somebody is paying $400 for 50 minutes of undivided attention. SUMMARY: If you need complicated meds, he's a good doc, but I'd keep the relationship to that and if he gives you referrals, make sure it's not the C team. Overall, he's a strange and disappointing guy.
