Dr. Rencher was born and raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho as the youngest of eight children. After graduation from high school, he served a full-time volunteer mission in Portugal for his church. Upon his return, he attended Ricks College and Brigham Young University for his undergraduate studies in biology. He earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Washington in 1989.
After completing his degree, Dr. Rencher and his wife Laura were drawn to Poulsbo because of the quaint, small-town atmosphere. They moved there because they wanted to live and raise their family in a beautiful place where they could contribute to the community.
Dr. Rencher and his wife have three children who have kept them busy with biking, hiking, fishing, and boating. Their family has remained active in the community by participating in church activities, school functions, and scouting opportunities.
