Terribly rude and unprofessional staff

Dr. Rubel is not a doctor to trust with your loved ones. After more than 20 yrs of patient care, he was heartless and underhanded when it came to granting my father 24 hrs appeal at St Francis Hospital. My 90 year mother submitted papers asking for additional time to determine which facility would be suit our fathers medical care and nursing. In the middle of the night, St. Francis released our Dad to a facility without any notification or contact. What a surprise when we arrived at St Francis Hospital only to find out he was transferred at night to Glengariff in Glen Cove. The social workers at St Francis are cold hearted and not to be trusted because they only care about the Dollar not the patients. This was a despicable cowardly act performed by both Dr. Rubel and St. Francis Hospital.

Dr. Rubel is truly a great doctor by any measure. He is knowledgeable, caring, compassionate and a superb listening. You never feel rushed and he leaves no stone unturned to get as much information as possible. Even if you think it's trivial, he checks it out. He is very dedicated to his patients and their health. Dr. Rubel is a treasure.

Dr. Rubel has treated my mother for the past several years, and I am extremely satisfied with him. He is extremely knowledgeable, has excellent bedside manner. My only problem is his staff...they are horrible. They certainly do not exemplify him. The receptionist is rude and extremely unhelpful, and makes you feel as if you are bothering her. I am so sorry to say that this is the reason why I probably will be looking for a new doctor.

My Father was blessed to a have renowned Nephrologist in Manhattan treat him with the utmost medical care for many years. Unfortunately, his dear Nephrologist passed away. My Father and I researched and visited six different Nephrologist but were never satisfied with any of them until we met Dr. Rubel. He is very knowledgeably, concerned, compassionate and extremely thorough. He has saved my Father's life on several occasions and we are grateful for him. The staff at his office are very accommodating, helpful and sincere. They have a tremendous responsibility to their patients and have proved it. Sometimes, not every appointment is of a critical nature and patients must understand that. We are very blessed to be under the care of Dr. Rubel and his staff. We have refereed several friends to Dr. Rubel and they are all very satisfied.

I was referred to Dr. Rubel by my doctor of more than 20 years, who retired. Dr. Rubel immediately treated me as one of the family. He is concerned, thorough, and non-alarmist. He seems to have an incredible memory for whatever you told him at the last visit; personal things (trips, family deaths, etc.) that aren't necessarily in his notes. These are qualities I consider extremely important. The comments on this website about his office staff shock me. I have had only good experiences with all of them, and I wonder if I'm reading about the same people. Appointments are always available, although getting an early morning one might be challenging. I can't say enough good things about this doctor.

Looking for a primary care is very hard. I was lucky to find such a nice Dr and supportive staff. I can not tell you how nervous I was about leaving my doctor of many many years. From the moment I walked in I was welcomed with a smile and though very busy I was not treated in a rushed manor. It is very hard to get an appointment but the girls up front try very hard to get you an appointment. I am glad to be a patient of this office.

Dr. Rubel is extremely caring, detailed, and patient. I would highly recommend him and his practice. The ONLY negative about visiting Dr. Rubel is having to deal with his receptionist Kelly- she is incredibly rude and impatient. I wonder if Dr. Rubel is even aware of her behavior when it comes to her speaking to patients on the phone or in person. The second you get past her, all is great!
