Dr. Lara graduated in the top ten percent of her class at Baylor College of Dentistry and was elected as a member of the Odontological and Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor societies. Her professional affiliations include: American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. She is also certified by the World Clinical Laser Institute in the use of the Waterlase MD and the EZLase diode lasers. Dr. Lara was raised in Atlanta, Texas, and she received her bachelor of science from Texas A&M University. Becoming a dentist fulfilled a lifelong dream of following in her father’s footsteps, the late R. Michael Thurman DDS. With her experience of growing up around her father’s dental office, Dr. Lara has a true love for family dentistry and enjoys seeing …children of all ages in addition to adults. In her free time, Dr. Lara enjoys reading, scrapbooking, crocheting and knitting. When she’s not working at PFD, you can find her (and her dog Eugene) helping out in her husband’s motorcycle shop in Aubrey. In their free time, Dr. Lara and her husband enjoy riding dirt bikes and traveling.
