Dr. Larisa Marcie Pearlman, MD

One word: CLUELESS!!!!!

I was seen in the hospital by Dr. Pearlman when having some scary symptoms at home with my pregnancy (which is high risk for numerous reasons). The symptoms disappeared in the hospital (which can happen). I was relieved, as I was terrified of the possibility of a preterm emergency c-section (which I would rather happen than lose my baby, of course). I'd had several scares recently, and had to come in before, so I was feeling happy to see that my body was calming down more than it had in almost a week... During the assessment, she was nice enough. But it ended there. Dr. Pearlman suggested perhaps my own evaluations at home were exaggerated, telling me I have been seen in the hospital too often (I was already feeling hesitant to come in -- but did so at the urging of my doc, who is very concerned because of my history of problems, and the recent progression of severe symptoms). She also stated, "It's way too early for you to deliver. Are you trying to rush delivering this… baby?" At that point, it was clear that she had already decided I was one of those "frequent flier" patients who just wants to have their baby already (the opposite of how I feel -- I want my baby fully developed and READY before delivery. I also want to enjoy this pregnancy as long as I can.). Furthermore, I found her assessment skills were not well executed. When checking my reflexes, she only hit 1 of 4 accurately, which is extremely important when assessing a pregnant patient. While going over my history, it came up that I had multiple pregnancy losses, which made me more inclined to be extra careful with this baby. She blew those off and said, "Yeah, but those were just miscarriages". Those "just miscarriages" were very traumatic to my husband and me -- babies with whom we had fallen in love, and are still grieving. I am well-educated, with a background as a healthcare provider. I do not take hospital visits lightly, nor do I enjoy dropping everything to go be evaluated. I would much rather be with my family at home. I know from being in the healthcare community that Dr. Pearlman is a thorough physician who has a good reputation as a clinician. Having experienced her from the patient end, however, I was dismally disappointed at her lack of compassion and care. This encounter makes me very hesitant to go in with danger signs, which I think could put me in a precarious situation were I a less-educated patient. As one who doesn't darken the doors of an ER unless I actually feel like I'm dying or like my baby could be harmed (like yesterday), I see this type of attitude toward patients as dangerous. It could keep a patient from pursuing treatment because they think they are "worried for no reason" or "exaggerating things" -- the way she made me feel yesterday. I would never treat one of my patients the way she treated me.

Dr. Pearlman saved my life after unexpected complications during the delivery of my third child. She cares about her patients and she's an outstanding doctor!

Unbelievable physician. The best I have ever met. I will miss her!!!!

dr pearlman was very condescending and made me feel stupid. she also acted like she was in a hurry to get home though I had waited on her for quite awhile. it was really the most unpleasent visit to a dr. that I have ever experienced.

The doctor has a great approach. I'm glad I went to this practice to deliver my first baby!

She is awful!!!

I went to visit this office for the first time today and needless to say, it will be my last time. The office staff was extremely rude including the so called office manager. I will never revisit or recommend this practice to anyone. I strongly suggest that Dr. Pearlman re-evaluate the people she has representing her, and her practice. I have never had to leave negative feedback about anything/anyone before, but I don't want anyone to experience the unprofessional and curt behavior that I've experienced with West Atlanta Women's Health.

My mom has been going back and forth with this office. First she never could get a surgery date scheduled, then she couldn't get a pre-opt scheduled. She would leave messages and no one would return her calls. Then she needed paperwork filled out for work and after a month of going back and forth again, they are giving it to her to pass on to work. It is a nightmare trying to get anything done by this staff. Dr. Pearlman is good. She didn't take any chances when we found a lump in my breast. I did feel rushed during my pre-opt and she needs work on the bedside manners.
