Dr. Larry Donald Cordell, MD

I just had to add with all my experiences with different hospitals and staff I can say without a breathe of hesitation the staff a KU is honestly the best I have ever dealt with in my life. No pasted on smile, the staff were genuinely happy to work there and I have worked in retail management for nearly 40 years and it starts with the top. I had one nurse there who I crossed opinion with but after thought she has decades of experience and I had none save what was preconceived in my mind but we both came out of the discussion for the better. You all give yourself a kind word for wait we as patients see first Now I have s singular wit and dry sense of humor but all these praise are from the heart and I just wanted to say Thank you

I saw Dr Cordell over a year ago with a lifelong history of back issues that eventually led to cortisone shots which at first lasted years but eventually I had back surgery 5 years ago which failed and eventually the the fusion pressed on my nerve and created severe sciatica. I have been in terrible pain.I have worked hard all my life and felt good about it until 60. I got an MRI done and went and saw Dr Cordell and figured he’d look at the MRI ; give me some pain pills and I’d be on my way. Not to be. He wanted to get at the cause of the problem as we didn’t know then the fusion was pressing on the nerve. He ordered X-rays and as I found out with him you can see other things on an X-ray than you can on an MRI. He ordered more tests and then handed me over to the pain management Dr there. I appreciated his thoroughness and came to enjoy his beside manner. I would highly recommend him and his professionalism.

I visited Dr. Cordell with a patient at KU. I was very impressed with Dr. Cordell's time and attention that he gave the patient. He appears to be a very competent doctor with plenty experience. We need more docs like Dr. Cordell.

If you are in pain DON'T waste your energy waiting for this "Doctor" he s not empathetic to pain or your limited condition. He should have retired 20 years ago appears to resent new research & technology his quote "just work through it" ....horrible experience

Dr Cordell operated on my knees a few years back and found him to be be a very competent physician

Had a lot of back pain due to car accident and had mri's to back it up and he basically blew me off once he noticed I had applied for disability. Extremely rude

Dr Cordell is n excellent in his concern and care he shows for his patients. Dr Cordell listens to patients and accesses their needs for further testing and care. Thank you for the recommend from your Nurses call line.
