Dr. Larry Marc Gersten, MD

This doctor's bedside manner or lack-there-of, is the worst. His surgery to my mom's hip was a disaster. She walked into the hospital and never walked again. Bedridden to her death. He's the worst.

I injured my knee a few months ago, and after being in quite a bit of pain for a few weeks, I was referred to Dr. Gersten. I was very impressed with him from the first visit. He carefully examined my knee, seemed to zero in on the problem immediately, explained the injury, and gave me a few options to proceed. I elected to try the most conservative first. He drained my knee and injected an anti-inflammatory into the joint. I received quite a bit of relief for the first 3 months, but then injured my knee again. Back to Dr. Gersten's office. He once again injected the knee, but this time I had little relief, and returned after a few weeks. He suggested an MRI, which confirmed what he had originally suspected. He recommended surgery at this point, and I agreed. I had surgery on a Friday, (today is the following Monday) and I have yet to take any medication for pain! I can't say enough about Dr. Gersten. He is extremely knowledgeable, very professional, and explains everything… in detail so you never have any doubts about what is going on, or what to expect. I highly recommend him if you are ever in need of an excellent Doctor for your knees.

Can't say enough about the whole process. He never pressured me to go for the surgery - after 3 years of doing shots I decided I had had enough. Really worried about going under since I have put on weight due to not being able to be active but he assured me that I would not be 'completely' under. I was considering backing out but as all of the specialists cleared me for surgery, I went through with it. Best decision ever! I'm at 120 degrees 3 weeks post op. I did get a 'Game Ready' machine which is not covered by insurance but I highly recommend. Tony Bedi

Total right knee replacement Oct. 2019, skiing three months later! Dr. Gersten and his team were what I had hoped for. From consultation, evaluation, surgical procedure, physical therapy in home & out patient, to pain management Dr. Gersten and his staff were excellent! Saddleback Hospital I would give 5 Stars too. Don't wait too long, your quality of life should not be compromised!
