Dr. Larry C Hughes, MD

I had been a cash patient for this office for a few years. I didn't have insurance and this office allowed paying cash so that's why I came here. I only ever met Dr Larry Hughes once. Every other time was with a different nurse practitioner. These nurse practicioners only work one day a week so you'll get a different one depending on what day your appt is scheduled for. I left this office last year because I got insurance through covered ca and they choose the pcp. I called Larry Hughes office today asking to come back and they specifically told me no, they are unwilling to take me back. I asked why and they claimed I left on bad terms, supposedly leaving bad voicemails, etc. I said that never happened. I left because of trying to get health insurance. She said either way you are not welcome back here. I asked to speak to the supervisor, Patty, or Dr Hughes, and was told that supposedly both of them are out of the office this whole week and "might" be back next monday. Very… unprofessional to put in my chart untrue lies.

Stay away from this doctor. Cannot trust him.

Made an appointment to see Dr Huges, had to wait over a month. Gave all the information about insurance over phone, the girl checked and said yes they would accept insurance. She said get there 15 mins early, to fill out paper work, and bring all prescriptions. I ask if that was all she needed she replied Yes and would see me on the appointment date. I get there 15 mins early as instructed, I was asked if I had insurance approval.... the first I heard I need to do that. (I haven't changed Dr in over 10 years). No one advised me that is was my responsibility. The girl that waited on me said 3 times it wasn't her fault she didn't make the appointment. like she was covering her butt. But most insulting was when the girl sitting next to her started laughing about it. Very unprofessional, most insulting. I asked to make another appointment and was told NOT TILL YOU ARE APPROVED...... so why wasn't the first question from the person making the original appointment "do u have… insurance approval".... but she made an appointment anyway..... after reading some of the other reviews maybe it is for the best.......... wish me luck in finding a competent Dr...... and even more luck to find his staff is competent as well.....

Horrible! Diagnosed my father, who has Alzheimer’s, with heart failure and put him on hospice. My father was taken off of hospice because there were no issues with his heart. Recently my dad had a fall and was put in nursing home to rehab. My mother called 3 times to try and get evaluation. Didn’t even get a call back, nor did Doctor Hughes call once to check up on his patient. We have changed doctors. My mother’s doctor is his daughter and has been less than impressed with her so she is switching doctors as well. Unprofessional and uncaring has been our experience with Dr. Hughes.

Don,'t see him if you are diabetic. he has no clue how to treat diabetes! I would have died if I did what he wanted me to do! One was he wanted, me a type I diabetic, to check my glucose levels only once per day and all diabetics know to stay healthy you have to sometimes check your glucose levels up to 10 times per day. His staff (except for the nurse) are inept and have made too many mistakes on my prescriptions for my blood!

I was assigned Dr Hughes 1 year ago trough Tricare upon release from hospital. The hospital doctor instructed me to see him within 24 hours of release. When I called and told them I was informed he couldn't see me for 30 days, I took the appointment but 25 days later they called to reschedule.i said screw it. Today I called because of reoccurring cellutits and fever, they told me 2 days and if it's that bad go to VA or ER. I am contacting Tricare to get new Dr

I made him my PCP. Attentive to any complaints. Thorough. Understanding. Wonderful Bedside Manner. Large Medical Offices. Staff in All Departments are Prompt efficient, understanding & friendly.

If this man is a doctor,I am the queen of England. Rudest, crudest person to be a professional I have ever met. Told him of inability to go to sleep and stay asleep... he told me to "drink a six pack". Also expressed concerns over local Hemet Hospital and he told me "if you don't like it move". So very professional. I will be reporting these comments to my insurance company.
