Dr. Larry Kelly Lummus, DDS

Meet Dr. Lummus
I am from Waco, Texas, and I graduated from Baylor University in 1974. I then went to dental school in Dallas, TX at the Baylor College of Dentistry and graduated in 1977. While attending dental school, I met my wife Kathy, who, at the time, was studying to become a dental hygienist. We married after graduation, and we set off for three years in the Navy at Camp LeJeune Marine Corps Base in Jacksonville, N.C. Our children, Kelly (age 32) and Chris (age 30) were both born while we were at Camp LeJeune.
After leaving the Navy in June, 1980, we moved to Frankston, TX. Kathy now serves as my office manager in which she does everything except dentistry. We are passionate about changing peoples lives by restoring their teeth and gums to health. Our goal is to educate our patients o the importance of the relationship between the health of their mouth, and the total health of their body. To do this, I attend 50 to 75 hours of continuing education, yearly. I graduated from …PAClive which is intensive training on smile design and placing cosmetic anterior restorations. I also completed training from Den-Mat on how to do minimal prep Lumineers and training from Sleep Well Solutions in the diagnosis of sleep disorders including sleep apnea and snoring with the TAP appliance. I am currently a member of the ADA, TDA, East Tex Dental Society, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
My wife Kathy and I are active members of the First Baptist church in Frankston. I have developed a passion for mission work, and , for the last three years, I have been going to Belize, Central America, with Tejas Missions, treating the dental needs of the people of Southern Belize. I also enjoy the outdoors. My hobbies include golf, hunting (deer and bird), fishing, and recently, swimming. I am also an avid Baylor Bear fan, especially of the women’s basketball team.
