Dr. Larry Jou Maukonen, MD

I've been seen at Southern Oregon Neurology for just about a year I every since day one the receptionist has been very disrespectful I believe and so many will agree who goes to this office will say they are not up to date with advanced medical also does not follow up with you very sad dr. And receptionist I will not recommend this office to anyone

When I went to see this doc he was not working in his own office is was in Brooking,OR the little room he was in wasn't that clean to me. He was quite, also so was I so that didn't help much. Something's it was hard for me to understand he mumbled a lot. He was nice an gentle. I don't know much about him this was my first time going to him. He still hasn't gave me a diagnosis for my seizures yet but I have seen many doctores about then and I still don't see how he'll be different for the other doctors I ve seen.

Dr. Maukonen's calm manner and patience is valuable in assisting one to negotiate the acceptance of a chronic debilitating disease.After 10 years of treatment I find him to always be informative and caring.

Dr. Maukonen has been more than helpful to me over the years, to include those who work at his main office and talk to me on the phone. Dr. Maukonen has helped me figure out new things going wrong, and has always been open to help me improve. When I thought I was going to move, he went out of his way to personally copy all my records then handed them to me to be able to take elsewhere.

He is getting old. He did not run any tests after reporting on going issues with my health. My wife found a new Dr. who ran tests and found serious problems. He needs to retire.
