Dr. Larry L Ruffin, DO

to answer this question from the receptionist, me being a relatively new patient of his. The office manager said sorry, I cannot do that. I would have to reschedule. So thank God the driver was still there. I took Lyft back home. The total round trip cost me roughly $70. Over 1 or 2 dollars that I would have corrected anyway. The reason I write this is, the more and more I tell this story as more of social jocularity, the mood turns serious on some of my audience, whom are in the medical field, and tell me that was straight unprofessional and highly wrong. Especially, with me being a new patient and all. So, I called Soonercare, and they told me to get a statement signed that that was the case, and they would reimburse my loses. Because it was they that had him on their list of approved doctors. Thank You. Dr. Ruffin is a super person from my first impression of him, and I wonder if that time set aside for me that afternoon was worth me not being seen for a dollar. Sometimes, in… situations just like this, the Doctor never even is made privy to the matter. I don't suspect it was the case here though. The office personnel seemed professional on my limited time there. I just don't know why the insensitivity to my needs in a doctors office. And that's exactly the blowback I received from telling this experience to others in the field. I'm sorry for being a bother. Dr Ruffin is a very competent doctor. He listened to me and discussed holistic approach to treatment. Many of my family members have been referred to Dr. Ruffin and he has been wonderful. Before treating my son, he reviewed his previous medical records and requested additional records from the specialist before trying to make a diagnosis. I have no doubt we will finally find a solution to the problems that my son has experienced over the last four years.
