If you ever need heart surgery, he’s the go man in Chattanooga! His whole team is fantastic!

He never even bothered to visit me before or after my surgery. About 3 weeks after surgery I developed a serious infection that I am still fighting today. I have nothing good to say about him or his staff

Because of Dr. Shears I can write a review, man saved my life. I trusted him immediately and he did a fantastic job. The man is a great surgeon.!!!

shears did surgery on my old frail grandfather which later on we found out was not truly needed but he told us it had to be done, otherwise he would die very soon. he had us all convinced on this robotic surgery. unfortunately we were so stressed out of our minds at the time, we agreed. when he told us that, we did not know any better. he did not offer alternatives to robotics or even surgery. it is too late. my grandfather suffered serious complications which left him basically a brain dead. we strongly urge others to go somewhere else, where shears has no affiliiation for more than 1 professional opinion.

Dr Shears is the one man I trust with my life. He is professional and kind and he has all my faith.

Dr Shears provided excellent care for our father. His style is not outgoing, congenial, and all smiles, but I'd rather have someone with his focus, thought process, and followup. I'm surprised at these ratings, because I think he's the best surgeon in this area. He made himself available as long as was needed to answer our questions and ensure we knew what to do. He gets an A+ from us, our father wouldn't be here without him!!

I know this sounds corny but Dr. Shears is my hero -- I am 34 & it's been almost 2 years since my emergency AVR -- a situation that I probably would not have walked away from if it were not for Dr. Shears -- he truly is an awesome & gifted doctor!!
