Meet Dr. Larry Smedley
Larry C. Smedley, DDS
Dr. Larry was born, raised and educated in Chester County, and he has been creating exceptional smiles here for the past 35 years! He established his practice in 1975 with the goal of bringing the ultimate orthodontic practice to his hometown. He truly loves our community and is honored to be serving the families who live here.
Dr. Larry started his destination toward a career in orthodontics by undertaking pre-dental studies at West Chester University. He earned his DDS from nearby Temple University School of Dentistry. Dr. Larry graduated with honors, including membership in the exclusive Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. He continued his education at Temple University, receiving his certificate of specialty in orthodontics.
Dr. Larry believes that education is a lifelong journey. That is why he has worked to become a board-certified orthodontist and continuously takes courses and seminars on the latest technologies and procedures. Dr. …Larry knows that his patients deserve the best, and he strives to always provide the highest quality services. In fact, Dr. Larry has been voted by his peers a "Top Orthodontist" as reported by Philadelphia Magazine.
In addition to his board certification, Dr. Larry participates in his continuing education as an active member of the following professional affiliations:

Dr. Larry and his wife, Kathryn, live in West Chester. They are extremely proud of their five children and five grandchildren. Dr. Larry’s son Christopher works with Dr. Larry as a board certified orthodontist. Both doctors also teach in the Orthodontic Department at the Temple University Dental School. Dr. Larry is proud to have taught his daughter, Kendra, who has also joined the Club Smed Team!
When not in the office, you will find Dr. Larry on the golf course. He also enjoys skiing, traveling and spending time with his family. Dr. Smedley is an avid sports fan and follows local teams as well as Philadelphia sports.
