Dr. Larry Dean Sumner, MD

I have been with Larry Sumner for almost 25 years. He is a very knowledgeable Doctor. Can be curt once in awhile but an intelligent Dr. I have read a few reviews which I disagree strongly with. All physicians have their referral Dr's for a specific reason. As for meds don t expect to get what you ask for, you will get what you need.

Dr Sumner is a self absorbed know it all who is very unprofessional. He referred me to a urologist to help with my prostate problem, but when I chose a local urologist instead his Tulsa referral, Dr. Sumner tried to make me feel like I was not capable of that choice and unprofessionally bashed that doctor. He then gave me the ultimatum that I had to choose between using my urologist or seeing him in the future. Fair enough and good bye! He made the choice for me by that egotistical, unprofessional demand. I will gladly give this review to anyone who asks about my experience with this man.

This Dr thinks that he knows everything when he really doesn't know his left hand from his right hand. He says that he's all about patient care , but he is a controling manipulator. He gives me benzo diazepam and my wife also goes there and he took her off for her medication after she's been on it for 9 years. When he found out that she was my wife he took me off my medication but continue to write me pain medication. Now I know other patients they go to him that get two different types of benzodiazepines and he's OK with that. He has the worst bedside manner of any doctor I have ever met. It is his way or the highway. Be an advocate for your patient care do not let this man bully you into what you know works for you. Find another doctor you'll be better off. And by the way I'm sick of hearing about your stupid family I'm not your psychiatrist !!!!! You need to seek help. That is why all doctors and all pharmacies in town do not like you . You are a self-righteous know-it-all that has… never been wrong. Can we say character flaw? You lose patience left and right obviously it's not the patients. Take a self examination of yourself. Swab your mouth you're not intimidating anyone. You have very poor business skills. Remember smartest man of all the customer is always right. Rule of thumb. Business 101. Where did you go to school? Or did you forget that too?

He is more concerned with his family problems than what I was there for. I had questions I needed answered about my health and he was more interested in what his wife and kids were doing!

NEVER EVER EVER USE THIS DOCTOR!!! HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HOS PATIENTS!!! HE ONLY CARES ABOUT WHAT IS IN YOUR WALLET AND TAKING YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY FOR EVERYTHING HE CAN GET!!!

This doctor kept putting off refilling some of her medications, but not telling her that he was no longer going to write those RXs, instead was allowing her to call the office, even went to this office today, and was told by staff the she would make sure her RXs were called into pharmacy today. She was in lots of pain and called me, I ask for his name calling the office after hours hoping to leave a message, instead the doctor himself answered the phone. Telling me a complete stranger her whole medical history and information. I could not believe that he was disclosing such personal medical information to a total stranger over the phone. I worked in medical field many years and he violated every HIPPA LAW in existence. I plan to contact medical board tomorrow and make verbal complaint. This doctor told me things i ld have not be told , PERIOD.

I have been very pleased with Dr. Sumner and his care for me.

Bad doc don't kno nothing about you even after 2years of being his patient he never gives the meds you need when you need them can't take time to talk to you because he already knows what your going to say worst doc ever he don't care aboute you he just wants you in and out

Dr. Sumner is an excellent doctor. The wait time to get in the back to see him is usually 30 to 50 minutes. That's the only problem. Otherwise, he's one of the best physicians in Tahlequah.

I have chronic back and neck pain. I went to him in search of pain relief. 3 years later, I am hooked on Norcos. He hasn't done any tests on me but he thinks I have arthritis. He will fill refills without ever seeing you. I wish I had never met him.
