Dr. Sylva was awarded the Pediatric Dentistry Award for treating children and he practiced general dentistry for eight years. He then attended Boston University (BU) where he received his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Endodontics in 1991. He also received his Master of Science Degree in Endodontics from Boston University in 1992. Dr. Sylva has been practicng endodontics in Pinole since 1991. Dr. Sylva has been a member of the UCSF Endodontic Study Group since 1992. Dr. Sylva was an Associa te Professor at UCSF teaching endodontics.
Dr. Sylva is married and has three children. His hobbies include winemaking, fishing, exercising, gardening, traveling and spending time with his family. He is a member of The American Dental Association, California …Dental Association, Contra Costa Dental Society, American Association of Endodontics and the Northern California Academy of Endodontics. Dr. Sylva was also on the Board of Directors of the Contra Costa Dental Society.
