Dr. Larry Hugh West, DDS

Larry H. West, DDS began his career in dentistry as a Dental Technician in the U.S. Navy. His tour of duty included the U.S. Naval Dental School at Bethesda, MD and the Naval Air Station at Quonset Point, RI.
Following his four years of military service, he graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Microbiology and worked as a microbiologist at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD.
He attended dental school at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. and graduated in 1970. His post-graduate education and training consisted of a general practice internship at the Augusta, GA, V.A. Hospital and the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry, from 1970 to 1971.
He received his specialty training in clinical prosthodontics with a two year combined program with graduate studies in Fixed Prosthodontics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry and prosthodontic clinical residency training at the V.A. Center …Hospital, Leavenworth, KS, from 1971 through 1973.
Following his residency training he served as a staff prosthodontist at the Biloxi, MS, V.A. Medical Center and the Gulfport, MS, V. A. Hospital. His duties included those of a consultant to the V.A. Central Dental Laboratory, Dallas, TX and the LSU School of Dentistry, from 1973 through 1975.
Dr. West has been in the private practice of implant, esthetic and reconstructive prosthodontics, first in Greensboro, NC and now in Tucson, AZ, for over 30 years. He attends over 40 hours per year of continuing education in advanced clinical prosthodontics and conducts training for dentists and dental technologists in prosthodontics.
He cooperatively consults with medical specialists, general dentists and dental specialists in Tucson.
His practice is located in Tucson at 1104 North El Dorado Place, which includes both clinical and dental laboratory services for his patients in all aspects of implant, esthetic and reconstructive dentistry which includes dental implant, fixed, removable and maxillofacial prosthodontics.
He is an active member in the American College of Prosthodontists, Academy of Osseointegration, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics, American Dental Association and the Arizona Dental Association.
