Dr. Lars Ricardo Newsome, MD

I have no doubt that Newsome is a well informed Dr. and I his education is impressive. I saw him for about 2 years and then for about 6 months. I understand why he has fairly poor bedside manner, and that is becasue he has little respect for his patients. I am confident that he sees many as drug atttics, pure and simple. I am confident, that becasue I had surgery on and had 1/2 my disc at C3-C4 cut out, and had a bulging disk at C6-C7, along withe severe narrowing of the spinal canal, he felt my pain was real. No doubt in my mind. I met so many other paitents, while sitting in his rented office space (just for that night), that had no surgery and were being given powerful pain meds. Many were very strung-out. But, my issue, I would have a 6PM appointment and I did not leave that office until 9:30-10:30PM. Just no respect for my time. He does his job. He does not go above and beyond, he will likely never be sued, as he covers his bases. He needs to give up on the cash and… focus on other areas beyond narcotic pain manegment. He is a competent doctor, I don't care what anyone writes. He just does not have allot of respect for the drug attics he knows exist within his practice. I have finally realized, the idea of treating chronic pain with massive amounts of opiods is a ridiculous notion. I am in the process of getting off and taking a completly non-narcotic approach. He never offered that as a suggestion. I think he knows we want the drugs. He was more of "good doc" or his bedside manner improves significantly when he is performing procedures, such as trigger points and epidurals. He should focus on that and stop being the big time drug dealer he essentially is. I do have respect for his knowledge and education.. But he had no respect for my time and he was no help when I wanted off the pain meds. He just gave me a 30 day supply and said "taper" off. I threw up for 5 days straight, calling him in-between vomiting. Never a return call. I had to call my Psychiatrist to ask what was going on? I did not know that is what they meant by withdrawal. My ignorance tho. All I had to do was Google it. AND yes, I over-took them when he first prescribed; he should really edcuate us more. He belives in "tough-love" (kinda). He knows we usually are not going to die, just get really sick, and it will likely never happen again (taking too much at first and then running out). I just wish he would have reinforced that. I think he over-prescribes, but I am the one that accepted that amount of opiates and I am the one that did not follow his directions. It is just a nasty side of pain treatment. Focus should ALWAYS be on non-narcotic options and it should be reinforced. Problem is, 50% of the people there, just want the strongest opiates that they can get b/c they make you feel great; "great" at a very high cost. Oh, and Vickie is awesome and NOT rude. She ALWAYS helped me out and she was ALWAYS understanding. Anyone complaining about her, is a patient that Vickie has identified as a drug seeker. I know this. She was nothing but kind and competent with me. She told me reality on times and waits, while Newsome would not. Bottom line, if your time is not that important to you, you are retired or on disability, then he's fine. If you have a job or own a biz, them I would go elsewhere. It, for me, was all about time. He is a good doctor that I think, became kinda greedy. And again, if you're just getting pain meds from him, with no non-narcotic treatments, he will loose repsect for you. Which I get.

After I got my injection have very bad pain. There's a warning from the FDA about this injectionin, my back got worse after the injection ,I will not take this again

Dr. Newsome has been my Dr. since 2002. He has done all my Nerve Root Injections amd I needed several due to unrelenting Pain from a bad fall at work ending up in a not so successful back surgery. I have had the Honor of Having Dr. Lars Newsome not only perform all my Nerve Root Injections, but He was also my Anesthetiser for all my Surgery’s I had to under go. I am hoping to get my next injections done from Him again. He is the absolute best Anesthetiser I have ever worked with, and feel Blessed that I found Him. I Give Him 5 Stars ?? ????????! He also has an incredible Bedside Manner that unfortunately most Doctors I have had to work with do Not have. He is the Best! Thank You Dr. Newsome for everything. Sincerely, Suzanne Torkar

My mom's appointment was changed at both Doctors on the same day. I called to verify the time and to tell the staff that I was running late when I called I was told to stop rambling. and I was stressed to be at both appointments on time. I was told to pipe down I asked who this is she said Vicky. Then Vicky said I was always rude and never have have hardly spoke to her. She must of mistaken me for someone else . I worked in Mortgage Banking for most of my life and selling cosmetics at a major store. That behavior is the most rude and unprofessional I have ever come across in my life. Rude!!!!! Newsome is a nice Dr. I am so disappointed in this behavior of Vicky. Then my mother's appointment will be pushed back if the staff gets upset.

I have absolutely had it with this medical office. I have stuck it out with Dr. Newsome because he was the treating doctor when I came down with my medical condition and discussed my case several times with my doctors but I can't take it anymore. The staff consists of Dr. Newsome who has a poor bedside manner, is ALWAYS running late and seems very uninterested in treating his patients. My last appointment, I waited over 3 hours to see him and very often, appointments are re routed to the following day leaving me without medication. I have called the office several times to speak with the doctor about complications with my condition but unless you have an appointment in his office, there is no communicating with him. Getting passed "Dianna" the medical assistant or what ever she is, is impossible. This is an angry woman who is obviously hates her job and the patients that come into the office. She is extremely rude and treats me like a strung out crack head rather than a person… suffering from a serious medical condition. The only thing this office has going for them is Vicky who is very nice. They are rushed, unorganized, rude, ALWAYS late, unresponsive when issues arise and could care less if you have to re route your entire schedule, get someone to bring you to your appointment and arrange for babysitting for your young children when they call you and reschedule your appointment for a different day. Their attitude is "if you don't like it, go somewhere else". You know what.....I think I will.

VERY RUDE STAFF AND DR I WILL TELL YOU A LITTLE ABOUT ME I DON'T KNOW ABOUT OTHERS THE STAFF AND THE DR DID NOT RESPECT ME DID NOT RESPECT MY FAMILY I WAS TREATED LIKE A NO BODY AND THEY THINK THEY ARE GODS THE DR TRIED TO THREAT ME THE STAFF INSULTED MY FAMILY THE DR IGNORED ME I HAVE NEVER AND I DON'T THINK EVER I WILL MEET THESE KIND OF PEOPLE SPECIALLY IN A DR'S OFFICE I NEVER FELT IT WAS A DR'S OFFICE YOU WILL MAKE FRIENDS WITH SATAN BUT NOT WITH THEM

Been a patient for a few years (my wife has been a patient for 6 months) and every single time I go to an appointment, I have a problem with the receptionist. And every single time I call, I am greeted with an apathetic attitude and snappy responses. The women there are rude, even aggressive at times. They don't want to tell you anything, refuse to listen to common sense and act like you a bother to them. I like dr newsome. He's an intelligent guy (okay bedside manner, no conflicts, just not that friendly). But he has GOT to get rid of that staff. My wife and I are leaving and so are 2 of our friends because they hate going there or calling . ALL BECAUSE OF HIS STAFF. What a shame!

Dr Newsome is a GREAT DOCTOR but his staff is THE WORST EVER.

He is caring and professional and technically amazing. I would not want anone else to care for me.
