Dr. Lars Langschwager, MD

This is my second pregnancy and my doctor is on maternity leave, so I went here to continue my doctor visits. I left his office balling and will NEVER go back. I’m 36 weeks pregnant and was just supposed to go in for a simple check. He stuck his ENTIRE hand in me to see how much I was dilated. Naturally, I yelled in pain and afterwards he said “I hope you’re having a bigger baby than my hand.” “You’ll probably have contractions now that I’ve done that.” I’ve never been checked so aggressively! And then to say he hopes I have a baby bigger than his hand. No one sticks their entire hand in just to check to see how dilated a cervix is. Now I’m in pain and feel violated and disrespected.

I am not sure why he is getting 5 stars from so many people when he’s always very rude to me. My questions are answered with an eye-roll and arrogance. I have only seen him 3 times & each time I left the office feeling like he was looking at me differently. Almost like I was a child wasting his time. The only time he was kind was before surgery when my husband was sitting next to me. At one point during my follow up, he said, “I will see you back in 3 months” and I said “if this heavy bleeding doesn’t stop, at point should I call?” He said “Like I said, I will see you in three months.” When he left, I asked the nurse the same question and she told me what to look out for to warrant a call. There were several other instances like that in the short time I have had him as my doctor. My ablation that he did completely failed, so I will be finding a new doctor.

I followed Larz after he left one practice. I did this for many reasons which include: his personality, bed side manner and general demeanor. My husband and I both enjoyed the visits we had with him and are still looking for a doctor like him now that he moved to Indiana. I highly recommend having Dr. Larz to be your doctor.

I moved offices a few years ago because I had several concerns going on and felt the Dr was preoccupied. I did my research on offices/Doctors within 30 miles and decided on Dr. Lars. There is quite a history of breast cancer in my family, as well as uterine cancer. When I met with Dr. Lars he took the time to listen to my concerns about family history, as well as current issues I was having. He was not rushed, and probably spent an extra 20 minutes answering my questions and talking through tests. He was pleasant, but not "overly" pleasant, which is what I want in a gynecologist. He was a down to business kind of Doctor, which is what I like. The only downside is that he is also OB, which means if a baby is coming, your appointment is probably getting moved. Can't help that. And, I am ok with that type of reschedule as the positives outweigh it.

Extremely rude the entire time. Made comments about my age and relationship status the whole time. Unproffesional and didn't listen to me and address my symptoms..he just brushed it off as nothing even though I was puking constantly and uncontrollably since 4 weeks of pregnancy. My mom had to be hospitalized many times and given a feeding tube and IV drip during her first pregnancy. I told him I read it was genetic, but he just said "you're fine" and sent me on my way. He also prescribed me a nausea medication that wasn't covered by insurance. My husband was not happy that it was over $600, and he tried to contact the doctor with no success. We will never come back to DeKalb

I think Dr. Langschwager is one of the best OB/GYN Doctors. He was great at the prenatal care and wonderful during the delivery room. I struggled in the delivery room and he was very caring and patient with me. I am greatful that I had such a wonderful doctor. My husband was also very happy with the Dr.

Dr. Larson is a great doctor. Everything that he explains is understood with no problems or questions. He's a great communicater with you. You'll never leave his office with any questions or concerns, you'll always have a smile on your face.
