Centerpoint Health - Georgetown is excited to introduce radiation oncology services to supplement our existing medical oncology, wound care, and palliative care services already offered to patients needing cancer care in the greater Georgetown area. Dr. Laura Downes will lead the new Centerpoint Cancer Care - Radiation Oncology center, leading a team of medical dosimetrists who will work with the oncology team to create a plan to deliver the prescribed dose of radiation to patients, and a medical physicist who helps design patient treatment plans for high-precision treatments by using physics to model and measure how radiation interacts with tissues in the body.
