Dr Laura Burns Gaffney

I wish the people with a bad experience would give Dr.Laura Gaffney another chance. My husband and I have been going to her for over a year and we are very pleased with the time spent with us....we have never had to wait a lengthy time when we have an appt. She is courteous, knowledgeable and thorough. Her office staff actually answers the phone when you need an appointment. I would give her 10 stars if I could and I feel blessed to have found her.

I saw Dr Gaffney at my first regular Dr appt within a year of moving here. I was behind on a few screenings and she quickly but empathetically zeroed in on those as well as a primary need, addressing a very confusing, situational depression that had set in since a recent heart surgery. While my world was spinning still trying to sort through exactly why I felt so devastated, she asked all the right questions, made great referrals, and helped me truly recover within a month. I will always be grateful for her professionalism, knowledge and quick observations to not only heal me, but save me months of suffering.

Yes she absolutely addressed My issues that really helped And it was simple and helpful At no cost just something I could do my self

I have no idea where Dr. Gaffney is practicing now, but one minute she was working for diagnostic clinic, then the next she wasn't, then the next I receive a notice that she is back again....then I get a notice that she is leaving yet again. I hope she is finally happy where ever she went because she sure was not happy tending to patients at that facility. Dr. Gaffney was rude and condescending when I went in for appointments and I usually left in tears. I gave her three visits before deciding to find another doctor. My biggest issue was....There was always another person in the exam room on a computer, during her exams, but not once was I introduced to that person or even told why they were there. It was creepy and totally uncomfortable. Luckily I am healthy and only needed to be seen annually, so I put up with her sarcastic attitude and assembly line technique. If I had one word of advice for Dr. Gaffney, it would simply be, "Listen to what your patients are trying to… tell you, and give them time to speak".

I search for a primary dr, for a while, that I could effectively communicate with. I had no luck for several years until I found Dr. Gaffney. Dr. Gaffney took the time to understand me and my concerns. She also was a blessing with my Mother and called me personally to provide her condolences when my Mother passed. I highly recommend Dr. Gaffney and am grateful to call her my Primary Care Doctor.

Doctor was annoyed with the add-on to the original reason for the appointment (children sometimes complain of things after the appointment is booked. Sorry doc, she's a child. You're a pediatrician and I shouldn't have to tell you this). Child tried to tell the doctor about her other problem and was told, "nope, not yet. I want to know about what you came in here for". Cut off both child and mother when explaining symptoms of original problem. I guess the history of present illness wasn't important. Did the quickest look in the child's ears that I've ever seen and since there was no fever, no antibiotic over a four day holiday weekend because 'it's just allergies' (She did give me a bottle of water to shove up my five year old's nose twice a day though. That was fun at home(sarcasm)). The child felt progressively worse over the Christmas holiday and on Sunday complained that her ears really hurt and she now has a fever. Next time she is covering for my child's PCP I will use a walk in… clinic

She was very impatient and rude. Not much of a bedside manner.

I would not recommend this doctor. She was difficult, had no bedside manner and was borderline rude to me.

Dr. Gaffney took a lot of time to talk with me about my history, my current issues and medications. She is obviously an expertly trained Dr. and also is empathetic to her patients. I highly recommend her.
