this office has a very rude reception staff, as a HIP client i was assigned to this doctor upon trying to get an appointment i was met with rudeness and denial until doctor herself approved client before visit...this is not HIP protocal or approved by HIP....how very unprofessional to say the least, a complaint was filed!

I have been a patient of Dr. Laura for over 10 years. It started out fine, but communication is non existent. She treats you as though she does not have time for you. She dpesnt address your issues properly or in a TIMELY fashion at all. I have had a lot of health issues that have came apparent within the past year and she never treated me for any of them. All that office wants is money. After sticking it out for over 10 years you would think I would receive some respect? NOTHING. I am definitely going elsewhere.

HORRIBLE medical facility. Will be filing a formal complaint. Have waited MONTHS to resolve two serious medical issues. Office staff have not completed referrals to specialists for brain aneurysm and also surgeon for a huge lump in neck. Testing began months ago and still no treatment. Total nightmare! Oh, and twice there have been dogs (NOT with patients) in the office.

I will tell you my experience with this doctor and office. They have awful office hours. Your lucky if you can get in before you know it, she's on vacation and we don't know until we call and find out! I NEVER get a return call from any of their office people. It's like they let the answering machine pick it up, and if we feel like checking it we will. Medications, I ran out of an important med that you cannot be without. I had to go to the ER!!!! 500.00 later just because she didn't call the med in. How imcompitent. SUCKS!!! I think she needs to go, or I need to go. I am looking and hoping to get with someone who can get back to me and hear me. Besides her np or people training to be a RN. Just sick of it. She needs to check me and other patients and their meds. Because some could just die.

One of our clients went to Dr. Laura Helman's for her scheduled appointment but once there began to feel very ill. The staff at Dr. Helman's office did not call 911; they instructed our staff person to take our client back home and call 911 from there. The EMTs who arrived to help our client were astonished at the doctor's staff's behavior and directive.

I would really like to recommend Dr. Helman, as she is wonderful! If I were just rating her skill I would give her five stars. I have had no issues with any of the nurse practitioners, so I would go with four stars on them. However, the wait time for appointments has gotten out of control (2 hours is normal, last visit for the kids that was scheduled well ahead of time.... I walked out after 2 hours and 45 minutes). If you have all the time in the world and can wait this long, she really is a great doctor. Unfortunately, the office just doesn't function well and the hours are a little limited. I have held out for a number of years, but it is getting worse instead of better. Anyone out there that runs a great doctors office and is looking for a new challenge, I beg you to look her up.

Dr. Laura Helman is a knowledgeable, compassionate doctor; HOWEVER, I can no longer recommend her practice. When we first started going to this practice, Dr. Max and Dr. Laura practiced with a third doctor. There had always been problems with leaving messages (they are never returned so you just have to keep calling until you get someone), with sporadic office hours (call on Monday and if they are open you can get their hours for that week only), and long wait times in the waiting room (I was once there four hours- I only wish I was kidding). As of late, though, things have become much worse. First, you do not know if you are going to see Dr. Laura (Dr. Max has long retired) or one of her incompetent nurse practitioners. One nurse practitioner convinced me that I needed a pap smear because I had a persistent UTI. He told me it would cost about $200- but my symptoms may be a sign of cervical cancer. I went through with it, only to discover later he had also run several expensive STD… tests on me- my final bill was $500 plus doctorâ??s fees. The next time, I specified that I wanted to see Dr. Laura- not a nurse practitioner. Imagine my surprise when I showed up a week later to find another nurse practitioner. I was told Dr. Laura was on vacation. This time, I needed a physical. The nurse practitioner did a brief exam and asked me why I was there. When I told her, she said, â??Well, I already looked in your ears and listened to your heart. What more do you want me to do?â?? I have never had such a brief yearly check-up. Unfortunately, the office staff have also grown incompetent. My husbandâ??s medical paperwork has been faxed in unsigned and without key information filled out (i.e., the address of the office). Many times he has gone to pick up his prescriptions only to find the dosage or medication called in was wrong! The last time, it took them a week for them to call in the wrong prescription. Thankfully, the pharmacist gave us an emergency dose of what he needed to get us through the weekend.

She is incredible!!!! Very efficient, compassionate, and non judgmental. As a nurse x 20 yrs in direct care she is one of BEST I have encounter!!! She is an Angel!!!!
