Dr. Laura Elizabeth Howe, MD

I have recently went to bayside allergy in Traverse City to see Dr. Howe. My appointment with her was terrible. She profiled me and questioned whether I could afford a patch test. Upon my appointment I gave my insurance and they confirmed that it would be covered which is why I was under the impression that the patch test would be okay. I was scheduled a particular day that I waited weeks for in order to get a patch test and she tells me in our appointment, “we don’t do patch tests on this day, but I guess we can”. This upset me because I work very often and have a tough time making availability and in addition to waiting a month or so for this appointment. I was scheduled and was told that the day I came in I could have one done.. within the appointment Howe made several comments about things finance related that didn’t need to be said or addressed. Upon checking out I told the receptionist I will not be scheduling a patch test and will go elsewhere. I’m not sure if it was my younger… age that made Dr. Howe profile me and think that I couldn’t afford it, but on her description for Bayside Allergy she’s described as someone who ‘is committed to professional and passionate care for patients of all ages’ yet I feel that once she stepped foot in the appointment room she did not treat me as an adult or a patient. I would not recommend Dr. Howe. I would not recommend Dr. Howe.
