Dr. Laura Kolarz-Jozewicz, MD

My experience with Dr. Jozewicz leaves me amazed that anyone would describe her practice harshly.  IMO, she truly deserves 5-stars in every area! Immediately upon my arrival at my initial visit, it was obvious that my experience was not what some had described.  Her office staff was efficient, caring, and professional.  The nurse who took me back to the examining room poured over every item on the health history and medication list I provided.  She entered the details into their computerized medical record system and asked many clarifying questions to ensure accurate understanding.   Shortly after the nurse departed, Dr. Jozewicz knocked and entered. Dr. Jozewicz was pleasant, asked a few questions related to my referral, and immediately started a thorough review of my health history and medications, delving deeper into some areas of the familial and personal history and also ensuring that she understood the background health issues regarding each medication.  Honestly, I've had good… experiences with many doctors, but don't think that I've ever had such a thorough health history review by anyone (including med students at teaching hospitals.) Dr. Jozewicz helped me understand the issue that initiated the referral as well as another issue that was uncovered in her health history interview.  She ordered tests that had not been completed in the ER, but were necessary for an accurate diagnosis, and provided logical reasons for seeing another specialist to eliminate another possibility.   I appreciate her "direct and to the point" personality. I liked the fact that she gave me all the time I needed, didn't waste time with extraneous things, and provided full attention to my health.  I was impressed by her intellect and her ability to explain things in lay terms.   I'm happy to be her patient and highly recommend her to others!

After a severe T.B.I. I was referred to Raleigh Neurology where I saw one Neurologist with no results and many testing. Then one of the best Neurologists they claimed they had there. I left with no results. After having more headaches and falls I was referred to Dr. Jozewicz which has been a Blessing. She did more in-depth testing and believed I was epileptic and was right. A week after diagnosis I had 8 grand mal seizes in a row leading me into a pure downhill spiral of uncontrolled epileptic seizures. Back up day one, she asked me how long I had seizures. Just observing me. And she was right. Thank God I wasn't at Raleigh Neurology where they basically said I was crazy. She got me in touch with one of the top Nuro suerogons at Duke for observation and shortly at Wake med to have a VNS device implanted in me. So far my seizures have dropped dramatically once in therapy mode. My headaches have drastically improved. She referred me to other specialists to help treat people in my case… such as therapists, physiatrists, nutritionists so on. I don't see my progress overall without her. Her staff upfront "Stacy" as well plays a big role in helping things roll smoothly. Dr. Jozewiwicz takes the illness as serious as her patients. If she is in and out doesn't mean much. She is sharp. At the other Neuro, they don't give feedback. She has reasons behind all of her decisions and has given me all of the cutting edges of all the treatments. Generally, we start with trying medication with samples first before buying a ton to see if it works. I can not explain how much her treatment has helped me!! My Physician now sends his patients now to her instead of Raleigh Neurology. This is how big of an impact she has been on me. Now I don't play well with Dr's and she is blunt. If you want help this is what you need. Just be patient and I promise, listen and she will help. She has a heart of gold. I have a life long illness and have been seeing her for 3 years now. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Thank you Dr. Jozewicz and Stacy!!

Dr Jozewicz diagnosed my cancer when other couldn’t and saved my life.

I have only been once but she spent a lot of time with me, more than most doctors I have been to, was very thorough regarding my past medical history and headache patterns. Suggested some vitamin/mineral dosages should you like to go the natural route, but also prescribed medication and gave me samples of some nasal spray for migraines to see if I liked it. Also suggested mutiple other things to try to help better diagnose the problem. Ordered an MRI as well contrary to previous review.

Rude, dismissive. If you are five min late for an appointment, they cancel on you. Doesn't listen.

Dr. J. DIAGNOSED MY PARKINSON DISEASE IN 2012 AND HAS BEEN BESIDE ME ALL THE WAY ON THIS DEBILITATING JOURNEY.I AM A PIANIST AND A COLLEGE MUSIC PROFESSOR . I THOUGHT THAT I WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO CONTINUE PLAYING AND TEACHING PIANO BECAUSE I WAS SHAKING SO MUCH, BUT SHE HAS QUITE A KNOWLEDGE OF HOW TO DISTRIBUTE JUST THE RIGHT DOSAGE, AND BRAND OF MEDS at the right time of day so that my tremors are totally under control. We have a wonderful repore with ether. I highly recommend Dr. J.

I have never in my life been so insulted by a dr. She would not listen, could not keep her notes strait.Mean person in general, cares nothing about what you say! DON't give her a penny!!!

This office people is so rude, have the worst ruder, receptionist. she hang up the phone in a heart beat.

It is almost impossible to get the office phone to answer. I have called numerous times during a day, only to be the answering service (human) which tells me I need to call back later. When the phone does answer, there is an extremely lengthy answering message that you must wait through before you can speak with anyone. Usually, I have had to leave messages and wait for a call back. With the acknowledgement that health insurance is a complex matter, the staff appears to understand virtually nothing about the requirements. They look totally lost when you try to explain a requirement. Therefore, any patients should come prepared with written instructions to leave for the office as to how the requirements of their insurance must be documented and processed. Be prepared to call back to follow up.

I visited this office in extreme pain with severe headaches and the doctor never bothered to take a CT scan, XRAY, or MRI. I expressed the discomfort that I was experiencing and that the headache was making me feel nauseous to the point where I was vomiting . To my dismay, she did not seemed concerned and prescribed 2 medications that do not treat headaches. 1 medicine treats high blood pressure when my blood pressure read normal, and the other was for a thrifts and the side effect of the medicine causes stiff neck which aggravated the headache even more , so basically she made my problem worse and she is a neurologist who is suppose to relieve the situation , not make it worse. I had to go to the ER for extreme pain and they immediately performed a CT SCAN and an MRI , and found a brain lesion in the back of my head. Keep in mind that the ER doctors were not neurologist , yet found what the problem was. This doctor is clueless and an amateur. It's unfortunate that they do not give… you a zero star as an option , otherwise I would have rated her a zero. A total disgrace to her profession.
