Dr. Laura Kuperman, MD

I'm writing this review almost 8 years too late but better late than never. Dr. Kuperman should be ashamed of herself as an OBGYN. The lack of information and education provided, and inadequate preparation for my IUD insertion is the definition of medical malpractice. I will be filing a complaint with the NYSDOH. I was only 20 years old and just looking for a longterm, non-hormonal birth control option. I knew I wanted to move forward with a copper IUD and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Kuperman. She did not prepare me at ALL for what I was going to experience. Leading up to the procedure, I was given a prescription medication for what I believe was cervical dilator? And advised to take 2 ibuprofen before the insertion. AND THAT'S IT. Had I known that for about 30 minutes I'd have to lay completely still, without any breaks, and suffer in complete agony during the most excruciating pain of my life, I would've DEMANDED I get a local anesthetic, a relaxant, and additional pain… relief. I was in so much pain during the procedure that I felt that any longer I would've passed out on the table. This is medical malpractice to the fullest extent. I was never informed of the pain, discomfort, and honestly trauma, I would endure. I've been under the knife before, more than once, and other pain eduring procedures, and I actually have a high threshold for pain. This was something completely different. So not only was I not properly informed, nor was I given anything to provide a bare minimum level of comfort for what is unanimously deemed a painful procedure, but I didn't even get a follow-up phone call or appointment to see how I was doing after. And honestly thank God, because since that day I have hated the very thought of thinking back to laying in that room going through such an excruciatingly painful experience that I didnt actually need to suffer through had Dr. Kuperman actually used a fraction of her medical degree and applied it. Time and time again women of all ages are suffering through this very thing and time and time again, we only find out we're not the only ones because some people have the courage to speak out. She purposefully and maliciously withholds life changing results for days. Just money hungry to bill insurance and won't help until she gets as many appointments and money out of you as possible. Laura, in two languages this morning told her office staff that she’s done dealing with this patient and to get “them” out as she walked away into a room. Her receptionist Josephine apologized on behalf of Laura for the disgusting verbal tone, attitude, and the words she used telling us to get out because she “had enough”. Accommodating and taking an appointment and proceeding with it is not the problem. The problem is the doctor receiving a cancer diagnosis on Friday at 2:30pm and not contacting the patient until days later- Monday at 8:30pm. So don't use your excuse of “after office hours”. You are a rude, malicious liar, with no respect for your profession or patients. Do not trust or go to her. Should be banned from practicing medicine. Will be reporting her to the medical boards.

She is by far one of the best doctors I've ever been to. The office and the staff could not be more professional, personal and warm. They have made me feel at ease and well informed. I deeply appreciate the care and attention the doctor and the staff members has shown me and my husband as well as friends of ours who have also used Dr Kuperman! Highly recommended.

Laura Kuperman as an individual and healthcare practitioner was very unprofessional. I had the most horrific experience with her. I cant believe this office is still functioning. I'll never forget how terrible her bedside manner was and billing was even worse. STAY FAR AWAY! YOU HAVE BEEN URGENTLY WARNED !!!!!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Kuperman for approximately 9 years. She is extremely knowledgeable, patient and understanding doctor. Dr. Kuperman truly demonstrates excellence in her standards of care. I am very grateful to have found this genuinely caring doctor.

I am very impressed with my experience with D. Kuperman. She is very attentive, easy to talk with, truly listens to your concerns and always answers any questions. I put my trust in her ability and judgment. She is very confident and pleasant. I would highly recommend her.

Had to leave a credit card on file in case and a week later started having charges. Her staff ordered food to the office and thousands of dollars on my credit card. I provided proof and the dr refused to fire this criminal. If you are a patient and have had your credit card compromised I guarantee it is from her office. This persons boyfriend was on the news after conning people out of over $13,000!! I had to cancel my surgery and file police reports, freeze my credit etc

The worst OBGYN experience ever! Avoid coming here if you want to save your time and energy. Let start off by saying that the staff or doctor does not know what you were scheduled for. Dr. Kuperman referred me to get a procedure done called Hysterosalpingogram and when the results came back they informed me that I had to go in to discuss the results with the Doctor. I had the results sent to me from the radiology center where I got the procedure done so I knew exact what was going on. When I went to my appointment to discuss the results the doctor said that my right fallopian tube was blocked when it actually was the left one - she was too careless to completely read the results. She then said that there was nothing to be done for me, that I just had to leave it the way it was. I asked her if I need a Laparoscopy surgery in order to unblock it, she said no. I kept asking about my condition and she was just getting annoyed, did not tell me much information about. She told me she did… not know where exactly my tube was blocked and I told her she should have the x-rays from the Hysterosalpingogram, she said she did not have it. So I had to show them to her from my phone and when she was looking at the x-rays she said she does not know where it is blocked and that she's not a radiologist she can't read the x-rays - but she's a doctor .... Afterwards, she told me that today's visit may not be covered because her previous patient was not covered and that I may not be covered also. I told her but we are not the same patient and that she should check my insurance under MY name before she makes those kind of assumptions. I was so fed up with the visit, so I requested MY medical record of all the exams she has done there. She told me I had to pay a fee of $7.50 in order to have a copy of my medical records. When I got to the front desk she informed her staff to have me a sign a paper - I thought I was going to sign a release form for my medical records ... No, she had me sign a paper that stated I had to pay for any procedures that my insurance did not cover .. basically todays visit. I told her why am I signing this now? I should have been explained this and signed this before I was seen, not after. I wish I would have avoided this place, 0 stars.
