Dr. Laura Pace is, without a doubt, the best doctor I’ve ever had the honor of working with — and that’s saying a lot after 39 years of navigating complex health issues. From the moment I met her, she listened with such presence, compassion, and depth. She didn’t rush me, dismiss me, or talk over me — instead, she asked thoughtful questions, took the time to truly understand my history, and made me feel seen in a way I honestly didn’t think was possible in a medical setting. She validated my experiences, related to me on a personal level, and reminded me that my pain is real and deserving of care. What meant even more was that she acknowledged how hard it can be to be a woman in the healthcare system — and she even shared that she herself has been dismissed by colleagues simply for being a woman. She told me plainly that it’s wrong when our symptoms are brushed off as “just woman problems,” and in that moment, I felt completely understood, respected, and not alone. Her bedside… manner is absolutely phenomenal — warm, grounded, and wise. She’s ordering extensive testing and taking a whole-body approach that gives me hope again. I walked out of that appointment feeling like I had an advocate and a healer by my side. She mentioned herself that she’s not your average GI doctor — and she’s right. Dr. Pace is a specialist with rare expertise, and while it may take a while to get in to see her, she is 100% worth the wait. I feel so lucky and grateful to be under her care. She doesn’t listen at all. I waited for months to get seen by her because I had seen a few good reviews about her, but she hardly took time to hear my medical problem at all. She cut me off while speaking, interrupted me, even rolled her eyes! And generally acted like she was God’s gift to the world and I was filth. She was very conceited and entitled. Don’t make the same mistake I did by seeing her. Find someone who actually treats you like a patient not a waste of their time!
