Dr. Laura Ann Pieri, MD

I agree with some of the posts here. She was very condescending. She didn't believe that I had suicidal thoughts but that I was just looking for attention. She hates people who are diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. She said that I was lucky to have someone in my life since most Borderlines are all alone in the world. No regard or understanding for childhood trauma causing Borderline or other mental illnesses. She suggested that I get religious or spiritual too and that therapy is useless like the other person who posted on this site. She made me feel like a loser who is just a waste of space on this planet.

Over the 4 years I have been a patient I have greatly appreciated her insight, individual care and time.

Dr. Pieri had no empathy whatsoever. She basically told me that there was no hope for people with Borderline Personality Disorder and that thousands of these people are alone and that I am one of the lucky ones to have someone who likes me enough to be a part of my life. She scoffed at the idea of mental health professionals still using psychotherapy because she said that it doesn't work. She suggested that I become religious or spiritual/new age instead. She also said that I probably would need to be on medications for the rest of my life. I was left feeling like she was feeling very negative about me and about people with Borderline Personality Disorder in general. I felt angry too because I felt that I was dismissed at a human being with my experiences with childhood trauma, etc. It was just about being judged and prescribed medications.

Dr. Pieri saved the life of my young adult son. His mental state took a sudden and surprising turn for the worst. Within a few weeks he mentally collapsed. It was Dr. Pieri that diagnosed him and got him on the path be a participating member of society and family. She knows what she is doing and deserves the trust of her patients and their peers.

This doctor made a completely inaccurate diagnosis and told the patient that the situation was bleak. Was very cold, rude and blunt not only to patient but to the parents. I have seen many physicians in my lifetime and I can honestly say that she was the worst I have had the displeasure to encounter. I would never recommend her to anyone.
