Dr. Laura Popescu, MD

I have never had such a caring primary Dr. as Dr. Popescu. She is extremely thorough on her examination.

I wish I could put 0 stars, but 1 is the lowest you can put. To start, she has you fill out new patient documents, in these documents she asks to write any concerns down. I wrote down ONE concern, it was in regards to my recent stomach discomfort with constipation. The form literally asks to to circle/write out ANY concerns and she will address them at the appointment. Upon her entrance into the room she said, 'any concerns will be an addition charge as it is insurance fraud to not charge PER concern'. FRAUD!! She said if she address my concern and did not bill me for another consult this was considered FRAUD!! Why go see a doctor if EACH CONCERN is considered ANOTHER BILL!!!! DO NOT visit Dr. Popescu!! She is not professional, she is judgmental, she is pushy, and most of all, she is a doctor of money. She only wants your money and to get as much as she can by uncharging your appointment!! OH and may I add, I was going to refer my mom to her, and asked if she was knowledgeable for… diabetic patients, her answer : 'I will have to charge for any diabetes related questions'. DONT SEE HER, LITERALLY SEE ANYONE ELSE!! She only wants your money, she is not here to help you. I asked if she could order me a full yearly blood exam, she said she would not do it unless I visited her again and even if I did visit again, she said she also would not order me a full exam but rather a basic one because 'no one needs a full yearly exam', though my insurance covers it and I wanted to get it, she refused UNLESS I came back to visit her again, at which point she would still ONLY order a BASIC exam, not including hormone levels, iron, full thyroid, metabolic etc but ONLY including a basic A1C, lipid, and CBC!! Useless check, waste of money. She is not worth your yearly visit, see someone who actually cares about your health and not about pinching every dollar out of you.

Went in for a general doctor and hormone treatment I have been on for 6 years. Gave me a tet shot, said she did not handle hormone treatment, nor gastro issues. Your nurses helped out more than you. Lazy.

I had several issues, I was trying out her to be my new dr. Not going to happen.. condescending , rude and does not listen.. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough!

Dr. Laura Popescu will see you for your physical, but then ONLY give you your results if you come back in and get billed for another office visit. She will not let you know she will be billing you (and holding you hostage) in order to get your results from your initial appointment. I would never go to her again.

I receive lab results with some minor positive results (ie: low Vitamin D) to which she will only talk to you in person about it, not over the phone. So I need to go back into the office for her to tell me what I already know, and then get billed for it. Additionally, the blood tests for the annual physical are sent in as diagnostic, not preventative, so I am billed for those. Then trying to get a hold of anyone at the office with a clear response can take multiple tries. Lastly, after seeing the Doctor and coming back to the front desk and trying to get out of there - the communication between the Doctor and the front desk and any last prescriptions needed took multiple people to be involved. The Doctor or nurse doesn't communicate with the front desk so they have no idea what you are waiting for, and it doesn't occur to the front desk to walk back to the Doctor and find out. I would not go back here again.

This doctor was demeaning, rude, cold, and dismissive of the patient's feelings and situation. She was verbally abusive . This is not someone who should be dealing with people who are ill.

Dr Popescu was my mother's doctor when she was admitted at Rose Hospital. She was very caring, professional and I felt that my mother was in excellent hands with her. I wish that she could be my primary doctor, but unfortunately she only sees inpatients. Thank you, Dr Popescu.
