Dr. Laura Winstead Pratt, MD

Dr. Pratt graduated cum laude from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro with a B.A. in biology, then earned both her M.S. in microbiology and her Doctorate of Medicine at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine (now the Wake Forest University School of Medicine). She completed her internal medicine/pediatric internship at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.

She has several honors to her credit, including Phi Beta Kappa membership at UNC-G, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society at Bowman Gray and the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award since 1995.

Dr. Pratt practiced family medicine in North Carolina 17 years and then was a staff physician at Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital Acute Care Clinic for six years. Before leaving for Montana, she practiced medicine with the North Carolina State University Student Health Services for nine years, receiving the University’s "Students First" Award in 2008. During that time she also worked part-time as a contractor with the …Department of Defense at the Raleigh, N.C., Military Entrance Processing Station. She joined The Spine and Pain Center in Kalispell in 2008 and today practices with the Montana Center for Wellness and Pain Management, a member of the Neuroscience and Spine Institute.

She is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and the Montana Medical Association. Her past activities have included civic orchestras and symphonies in Raleigh, Greensboro and Winston-Salem. She now spends time working with her horse and enjoying Glacier National Park and other outdoor activities in the Flathead Valley.
