Dr. Laura R Stone, MD

My visit with Dr Stone remains one of my worst pap exams ever. She was cold and dismissive. I'm very sensitive, and requested that she use a virginal speculum for my exam. Her response was, You're a big married woman." I discussed with her my concerns about hormonal imbalances, which she did not seem to care about treating. I left feeling victimized.

I have been a patient with Dr. Stone for several years (probably 5+) and she has helped me with several issues. I really appreciate her calm, friendly bedside manner. She has been open to discuss my issues at length as well as discuss medical treatment options and related questions. She allows me to be a part of the decisions of my treatment. She may run late some times on appointments but this is usually due to her desire to allow each patient the time they need. Thank you Dr. Stone!

I was a patient in that office for several years, and am so fed up with the office staff that I will no longer return, nor refer anyone to that office. Dr. Stone is a nice doctor, and although the office staff is pleasant, their business/billing practices are sloppy and mismanaged.

I went to see Dr. Stone for hormone deline, PMS and a gyn exam.Her staff asked me to disrobe and wait to see Dr. Stone ( this was my first consult andI had not yet met her, I though their request was tacky). Good thing I insisted on seeing her before getting into that paper gown as I would have waited an hour plus.Anyway, the waiting and rudeness of the staff was not my only concern. When I told her of my symptoms (PMS/hormone decline), she stated I was hypothyroid (my TSH was only 1.9 and I'm skinny). The exam itself went well. She was very gentle and quick, making sure to cause the least bit of discomfort possible.Though in a hurry, she was nice.I waited to hear from her for my follow up, finally her office manager called and stated that Dr. Stone wanted me to see one of her associates(who does not accept insurance) in the same office. I agree and consulted with Dr. Stone's business partner--another mistake.With no exam of my thyroid or body, this gyn stated I was hypothyroid and… placed me on thyroid hormone. I went HYPERTHYROID as a direct result.After that horrid incident, I followed with another doctor and found that thyroid WAS NOT MY ISSUE. Premature ovarian decline is the issue and now I am getting bioidentical help but no thanks to Dr. Stone and her business partner who misdiagnosed me, refused to return my calls and charged over 475.000 for the pleasure.There are better gyns and endos out there.I would not roll with this Stone.BTW, after I went hyper, and I called the office, the staff was RUDE TO ME, as though I did something wrong and to add insult to injury, Dr. Stone and the other doctor never called me back.

Do yourself a favor - pick your OBGYN based on a recommendation from someone you know well and trust. Dr. Stone is not a good doctor.

I've been Dr. Stone's patient for five years, and I have had great experiences with her--she's smart, down to earth, helpful and skilled. I moved five hours away and wouldn't think of changing doctors, so I go back yearly for my check-up. Her staff is great to, and easy to deal with. Really I can't think of enough ways to say how happy I am to have found her.
