Dr. Laura VanDyk
Dr. Laura VanDyk is a Puyallup Valley native. She was born in Tukwila, WA. Her family moved to Sumner when she was five years old. She has gone through the Sumner school system graduating from Sumner High School in 1999. She taught swim lessons and was a lifeguard during summers at the Lake Jane pool in Bonney Lake. She attended Pierce Community College and the U of W in Seattle for her undergraduate studies. She graduated from the U of W with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She was accepted into the U of W School of Dentistry in 2004 and graduated in June, 2008. She is married to Corty VanDyk also a Sumner High School graduate. They plan to make their permanent home in the Sumner area and are looking forward to being home again.
During her dental school studies she took electives in oral surgery and pharmacology. She completed a clinical rotation at the SeaMar Pediatric Dental Clinic in Puyallup, WA.
During this clinic rotation she worked …on children ages 1-18 and gained valuable experience in managing pediatric patients.
Dr. VanDyk is a member of several professional organizations including: American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, ASDA and the ADEA.
When not practicing dentistry Dr. VanDyk enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Oakley and Bailey. The family also enjoys downhill skiing, snowmobiling, waterskiing, jet skiing, golfing, and camping.
Dr. VanDyk places a high value on providing excellent, quality dentistry to all her patients. She continues to expand her dental knowledge and skills through dental continuing education opportunities. She is excited about her career in the dental profession and the opportunity to live and work in the Sumner area.
