I did not get alot of information for my surgery, I got my papers in the mail literally 3 days before my surgery that explained I needed to stop taking meds a week prior. I was very upset at that, my surgery time changed twice, and had nothing but complications. I was not happy with the nursing staff at the hospital, nor my hospital stay in which I had to stay 3 days. I felt like no one cared. I was hoping to see the dr more than once during my stay, and to at least see her after my second surgery that day. I just felt that I was just a number, just another person having surgery, like cattle, get them in and get them out. I also feel that if I didn't speak up, I would not be here today as I had serious complications that even the nurse was dismissing. Just not a good overall experience, surgery is hard enough, but when you have people that don't listen, and dr's that don't want to talk to you after surgery it is a bit bothersome. I am a nice person, who understands things do happen,… but this whole experience, just doesn't settle well with me. Nurses need to listen to their patience, dr's follow up with your patients immediately after when they are awake. We have lots of questions usually.
