Dr. Laura Jo Wong, MD

Ms. Wong is one of many unprofessional Doctors at VA Honolulu who feel veterans work for her not that she works for veterans. Extremely rude unprofessional and condescending. She is supposedly a supervisor which I find hard to believe in any other federal agency she would be. Only in the VA do staff like her not work for veterans or the american taxpayers. She and her staff have called demanding I change doctors 6 times in the last 10 days. To be clear this is a funding issue not a veteran services issues. They could care less about quality of care or doing the right thing. You're a number to her she needs in her system in order to justify her and her staff's payroll. Ms. Wong and her staff have canceled a half dozen of my appointments the day of in the last 5 years. She wonders why veterans demand to see mainland doctors via telehealth vs dealing with a completely unprofessional culture of staff and doctors at VA honolulu. I will be formally reporting her actions to the VA's OIG and… the Secretary of the VA office. I will also be making a formal complaint to the State of Hawaii's Medical Board. It's time we fire these caliber of doctors who think they don't answer to veteran or the american taxpayers.

Retired Army Veteran I have only praise for Dr Laura Wong. She has been my primary doctor for 31 years. She has always been quick to respond to all medical needs. She always diagnosed correctly and sent me to the appropriate Specialist in a time manner. She being so caring and efficient has on many occasions called my home to follow-up. My sister, not being a veteran, commented how fortunate I am to have her for my Primary Doctor. Many thanks for you keeping me well all those years… will be 80 this years.

My son is in desperate need of help from this VA doctor. He’s never even received meds for a broken back they were supposed to mail. Serve your country and get a dr who doesn’t respond.
