Dr. Laura Mcmillan Ziton, DO

I am a patient of Dr. Laura Ziton and she is amazing. She's the first one that actually listens to my concerns and has very vast knowledge. That being said, the staff here is really awful, some of them were straight up dishonest. I am disappointed that I will not be returning because I love Dr. Ziton but she is very busy and most of the time I am dealing with the staff. I had to get my immunization form signed by a doctor to start school and I had a telemedicine visit with Dr. Ziton to sort this out. At this visit she wrote an order for me to get my Hep B titer. She said the staff will follow up with an email and I could reply to that email with all my paperwork. A week later, I heard nothing back so I called the office and no one seems to know they were supposed to email me the Hep B order. I provided them with my email (which I had provided Dr. Z) so they can send me the order. 2 days later, nothing. So I called the office again and they said they had emailed it, told me to call back… if I don't get it by the end of the day. I called back the next day and they told me they don't do email at all at the office so they mailed me the order, to an address that I no longer resided at. This was 2 weeks after I had my visit with the doctor. I was given a deadline by the school so I said I'd rather come pick it up. I dropped everything I had that day to go to the office to pick up the order and drop off the paperwork that the doctor could sign. After I got my blood work and the result came back (i know because i used the Quest app that tells me when the result came back), I called the office to ask Dr. Z to sign my paperwork. The people on the phone told me to call the other office so I did and left the message. 2 days later, nada. so i called again and whoever on the phone was annoyed that I kept calling (mind you I cant attend MEDICAL school if I miss the deadline). They put me on hold, came back and said they never received any paperwork from me. I told them the name of the nurse (V) I gave my paperwork to and V lied that she did not get anything from me and she had called me for my test result so I did not come in and drop anything. V did not call me. I called the office. So she just lied that she had done something she clearly did not. So again I dropped everything and went to the office to drop off the paperwork. Someone called me the same day and said I needed a PPD test for Dr. Z to sign it. I shouldn't get the PPD test because I had a vaccine which I had told V. I came in for my PPD test regardless because I could still get the blood test and not the regular PPD. I came in and told the nurse before she put the PPD test in me that I had the vaccine. She told me her job is just do what she's told. She does not need to know about my vaccine history. At this point I was very frustrated so I let her put the test in me to get it done with, knowing it will give a false positive because of my vaccine. I came back 2 days later and indeed it was positive. I finally met Dr. Z and immediately when I told her I had the vaccine, she said I should not have let them put it in me. The nurse who put the test in was in the room and straight up lied that I never told her anything about the vaccine. Dr. Z was angry that the nurse put the test in me and ordered me a chest X ray. Everything was normal. It was exactly 1 month since I had my telemedicine visit with Dr. Z that I could finally get my paperwork signed. Overall, this experience was awful for me. The staff was rude and does not seem to have sufficient medical knowledge and lack cultural sensitivity. They poked me and administered a test that I know would be unnecessary. Every time I called the office, I had to repeat everything from the start. Until they improve staff education and give them more cultural sensitivity and customer service trainings, I am sad to say I will not return, even though I love Dr. Z a lot.

Horrible doctor with horrible customer service. You can tell she sets the standards low in customer service because her team is rude and she defends them. Worst experience ever.

Dr. Ziton is very pleasant, thorough, and quite knowledgeable. She takes the time to make sure all of your questions are answered. I would definitely recommend her.

not only does she have a shining personality, BUT her compassion and knowledge are what impressed me most, I come from a family of medical docs and I am picky about selecting a doc, I've been around long enough to know what to look for and despite the wait time she is very through !

She is easy to talk to and takes your feelings into consideration.

My first visit to establish as a new patient was okay. My second visit was horrible. My husband and I made appointments for the same day. We were cancelled by Dr. Ziton 2 hours before our appointment. They rescheduled us for 2 weeks later. Two weeks later we went for our appointments. After spending over 3 hours in the waiting room, we were told that Dr. Ziton was too busy and needed to leave so she would not be seeing either of us even though she took care of 6 people who signed in after us. We did not receive an apology for the inconvenience of spending several hours waiting for an appointment just to be turned away. They also took money from my husband for his copay and then struggled to return the money after we weren't seen by the physician. Don't waste your time with this physician. It is literally a waste of time - she will just leave you in the waiting room for hours and then cancel your appointment.

She is very professional and kind ! Very nice doctor !

I went to the office 3 times in a month. Twice because I was sick, once for an annual exam. Dr Ziton is very kind but the office staff for the most part is not. Sick appointments: Don't plan on being able to get an appointment. Your wait time will be about 3 to 4 weeks. The staff will recommend you to walk in and wait. Your wait time will be at least 1 hour and possibly up to 5 hours. Staff is rude. If you ask them when your turn will be, they will answer, well if you didn't want to wait, you should make an appointment. I did remind the staff that there were no reasonable appointments for at least 3 weeks. When you are leaving, the staff will give you a sheet with codes for what they did. READ IT CAREFULLY! They may have circled something they did not do like blood work or a shot. Bring your reading glasses if you use them, the numbers are tiny! I was told to go for blood work at a lab and I was given wrong information about which tests were going to be done and whether or not to… fast. I called twice about this and they did NOT return my calls. The annual exam: Waited 3 weeks for that appointment. When I got there I waited 15 minutes before they handed me forms to fill out and another 15 for the exam. I saw a med student first then the doctor. Needed referrals, a sign is posted on their window that referrals could take up to a week. When I got to the window I was informed that they were shorthanded so my referral will take about 2 weeks. I called the insurance company and they told me that the wait time is not from the insurance. I liked Dr Ziton. She is personable and professional. I just wish she had a better trained office staff. I also find since it is so busy, she does forget to check and make sure everything she asked for was done. So if you cannot remember everything she told her staff to do, find a different office. Your memory needs to be better than theirs. I can understand an office missing an item once in a while but on each appointment, major tests were missed and I would have to go back an wait some more.

Dr. Ziton is a very bright female Doctor. I have been going to her for a number of years now and I am always pleased with the experience and her high level of intelligence. She makes me feel comfortable and at ease. She is a great diagnostician. She is compassionate and caring...a rare commodity in todays world of medicine. Thank you for all you have done for me.
