Dr. Laurel Vaden Alsentzer, MD

Dr. Alsentzer received her Bachelor's degree as a Harold Sterling Honor Scholar in nursing from Vanderbilt University in 1983 and her Medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1987 where she graduated Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed a pediatric residency at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in 1990 and served as director of the Vanderbilt Pediatric Clinic Acute Clinic until 1993.

Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Alsentzer also holds certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Alsentzer has also taught in a national medical pediatric board review course and coordinated the pediatric program for Trevecca University's physician assistant program. She is the recipient of the prestigious Janet M. Glaucoma Memorial Award and is preceptor for Vanderbilt medical students.

She is married and has three children. She is an avid Vanderbilt sports fan and enjoys …working on computers.
