Unbelievable. I took the morning off from work to attend an ultrasound with my wife, along with our two boys. When we were called to the back, the incredibly rude receptionist informed us that their policy doesn’t allow any children under the age of ten into the back. When we asked why, she just advised that this has been their policy “forever”, and that the rooms were too small. This was our second visit to this office, and we know from experience that the rooms are perfectly adequate to fit myself and two kids on my lap through the procedure. I then had to take my kids out to our car while my three year old sobbed because he was unable to see his baby sister. Our first visit was also less than ideal. The receptionist was just as rude, and the doctor herself did not listen to what we had to say when she came in to meet with us. We gave everyone in the office the benefit of the doubt and scheduled the next appointment, but we both wish we would have found someone else at… that point. This is my wife’s third pregnancy, and we have never before had any issues with allowing our children into an exam room for an ultrasound. I can understand a policy that would warrant the removal of misbehaved children from the room, but this arbitrary rule just seems inconsiderate and uncaring. My wife and I both highly suggest looking for alternate providers.
