Dr. Lauren Sue Cassell, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Cassell's for over 20 years and can honestly say that she is one of the most competent, dedicated surgeons that I have ever met. Dr. Cassell exhibits such a degree of compassion which is highly needed when one is a breast cancer survivor such as me. In addition, she also takes the time to learn about your personal life. When my Mom recently died, she could tell right away that something horrible had happened in my life. Dr. Lauren Cassell is an asset to the medical community.

I have been a patient of Dr. Cassell for 4 years. She is one of the most caring physicians I’ve ever encountered. I had Breast Cancer in 1997 and my surgeon at that time moved away. I was very nervous that I had to find a new surgeon. Dr. Cassell was recommended to me and I was so happy once I met her, that I made the right choice. She is very comforting, professional and caring. From my first appointment, I knew I was in good hands.

You will not find a better surgeon or doctor anyway! From your initial visit- to surgery- to post op care you will receive the highest degree of skill, empathy, and professionalism. She will answer all of your questions and you will know you are in the hands of an outstanding surgeon/ doctor. I wish I would have found her when I was younger because prior to Dr. Cassell, I had a horrific experience with the chief surgeon from another " top" NYC hospital. That doctor gave me no post op care despite the fact my wound wasn't healing, and I ended up in a wound center. I will be forever grateful I found Dr. Cassell when I needed surgery again. If you need a breast surgeon you need the best. It is getting increasingly difficult to find a surgeon who is both impeccably skilled and caring. Dr. Cassell is the perfect doctor.

Dr. Cassell has seen me through two bouts with breast cancer and has protected my continued good health for the last 22 years.

With a history of breast cancer, I was facing issues again. I consulted with Dr Cassell about a bilateral mastectomy, and chose Dr Cassell because, from the moment I met her, I was impressed. Aside from easy to talk to and extremely empathetic, Dr Cassell showed true passion for her practice and was very knowledgeable about the surgery. Dr Cassell spend a lot of time with me and explained treatments and procedures; she was professional, respectful, and thorough. But for me, it was her kindness and compassion that set her apart from the rest. Dr Cassell is truly an amazing physician.

This week I celebrate 11 years since Doctor Cassell successfully operated on me. I am forever grateful to her for her expertise, compassion and ongoing care and concern. She is a special caregiver who stands out among doctors in her field. I look forward to my visits with Doctor Cassell, and I value all that she is.

Dr Cassell has always given me and the other patients I know-many years of expertise as well as loving care, kindness and compassion. Her superior bedside manner creates confidence and she gives her patients strength to get through any challenge. She has devoted her life to her patients and I feel privileged to know her and have her as my Dr.
