Dr. Lauren N Hinojosa, MD

Dr. Hinojosa is very thorough, conservative, competent, friendly and caring. She did LRTI surgery on my dominant hand. My recuperation was uneventful and I am back to almost full use of my hand in just 8 weeks. Dr. Hinojosa is so kind and cares deeply about her patients. Her office staff is just as kind and considerate as she is.

I saw Dr. Hinojosa she worked me in after calling so many offices and could not get in. My surgery could not have been more perfect. She is tough when it comes to telling you the truth she wants you to know exactly what to expect and she doesn't lie and make promises. So pleased with her and her entire staff they were amazing so amazing I sent two other patients to her and they were very pleased with every thing she did for them as well. I will definitely continue to refer friends and family. She is amazing with children as well I witnessed on several occasions while in her office.

I believe Dr. Hinojosa will be a very good dr when she learns to listen and learn from her patients. She performed carpal tunnel surgery on each wrist. The first one she did great and I was very pleased with the outcome so she performed the procedure on my other wrist and it had a very different outcome. By the time I got home, the bandage was soaked with blood. I changed the bandage two more times and put ice on it and finally the bleeding stopped. The first surgery, the incision was in the middle of my wrist as I expected by watching the procedure online. The second surgery, she made the incision in the crease of my thumb or the "lifeline" of the creases in the palm of my hand. This prevented me from moving my thumb because everytime I did, the opening would start bleeding again. I went back to her office the day after the problematic surgery. When I told her the problem was due to her cutting in a natural crease of my hand and I could not move my thumb because it… would cause the wound to reopen. She responded, "Well don't move your thumb." When I asked her what determined where she made the incision, she said she would pull the ring finger down to the wrist or put it in one of the creases of the hand to reduce scarring. The issue caused my recovery to be much longer than the first surgery. I had to bandage my hand to try to keep my thumb from moving. Finally after a total of about ten days, the wound stopped bleeding and formed a good "scab." Her attitude was very different when I had my week follow up visit. I suspect it was because another patient which I suspect was a relative or significant other that had the "entitled or 1% attitude." Me and another patient in the waiting room made several comments because this person was talking on the phone very loudly which in my opinion was very disrespectful of others in the waiting room. Good luck if you go to her. Hopefully she learned something from this experience which will result in her future patients having a better experience.
