Dr. Lauren Claire Mclaughlin-Abrams, DO

Dr. Lauren McLaughlin-Abrams is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management specialist at Advanced Pain and Anesthesia Services. A native of Vancouver, Canada, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of British Columbia and earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Colorado. Following an Internal Medicine internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Denver, she finished her Anesthesiology residency and an Interventional Chronic Pain fellowship at the University of Colorado. At Advanced Pain and Anesthesia Services, Dr. McLaughlin-Abrams and her colleagues recognize the physical, psychological, and emotional toll that pain takes and design personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.

Her primary clinical passion lies in cancer pain management—addressing pain, fatigue, and distress through a combination of optimized pharmacologic regimens, minimally invasive procedures, and …integrative physical and cognitive behavioral therapies. She works closely with patients’ families and oncology teams to minimize treatment side effects and maximize quality of life, helping individuals regain function and return to active lifestyles.

Building on her osteopathic training, Dr. McLaughlin-Abrams incorporates hands-on diagnosis and treatment into every care plan. Her expertise extends beyond oncology to pelvic pain, post-mastectomy or chest-wall discomfort, sports-related injuries, chronic musculoskeletal conditions, neuropathy, and myofascial pain syndromes. Advanced Pain and Anesthesia Services accepts new patients by physician referral—ideally from a provider familiar with the patient’s chronic pain—or after an evaluation by the clinical coordinator. Referrals should include demographic and insurance information along with the most recent medical records pertinent to the patient’s symptoms.
