Lauren Nance, who worked as a critical care nurse before becoming an advanced practice registered nurse, now sees patients 18 and over at Saint Joseph Medical Group - Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine. Her areas of interest include respiratory failure, and septic and cardiogenic shock.Nance's approach to care is to treat every patient as a unique case, using a holistic approach. She expresses humankindness by treating patients with kindness, respect and understanding. She was inspired to go into caregiving because of the intellectual challenges involved. "I really enjoy the diagnosis and problem solving aspects of health care, as in identifying the issue/s and figuring out the appropriate treatment plan," she said.Nance chose her specialty during her time working as a critical care nurse. "Working with the critical care providers every day made me realize my dream one day was to work with them, as a provider," she said.She received a bachelor's degree in nursing from Ohio …University, and graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2019 with a Doctor of Nursing in Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Her hobbies include cycling, hanging out with friends and her dog, Peanut.
