Dr. Lauren Merle Pachman, MD

Dr. Pachman saw my son when he was young. Children's Hospital of Philadelphia was unable to get control of his Juvenile Dermatomyositis. Dr. Pachman spent time with him and developed a treatment plan which ultimately sent his disease into remission. She goes above and beyond to work with the children and their families. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Pachman was my childhood doctor when I was between the ages of 6 thru 13. I was diagnosed at the time with a rare disease called JDMS. She was a wonderful doctor, and helped me to become strong. I am now 28 years old, and live a healthy, happy life. I don't know if she remembers me. But I will never forget her. Thank you Dr. Pachman.

My son came down with this rare disease when he was ten. Because of Dr. Pachman and her leading edge treatment at the time, the prognosis that he would always have muscle damage and weakness resulting in never playing sports again did not come to pass. My son recovered after a long treatment and she even helped consult on a recurrence about 5 years ago with a Dr. in California. You cant find any better for your child.

She saved my life, hands down. I was diagnosed with JDMS (which IS her specialty) and she treated my disease aggressively and thoroughly. I am fully recovered now and I thank god that I wasn't treated by a different doctor with less know how. To the other rater, sorry she doesn't coddle your child but put your big girl panties on and get over it. This woman is an excellent doctor and has truly inspired me to become one.

The experience I had with this doctor is that she was extremely arrogant, and was very alarmist jumping to want to biopsy, without providing any support for her opinions, and without being willing to discuss them further.I would not recommend her to anybody. Her staff performed repetitive tests that had already been performed by the prior person doing testing, and she stated that she values "doing more testing than other doctors", but did not get any better results and was unable to offer any better treatement solution.She was also extremely rude when you didn't agree with her and hands out a book in which she quotes herself as an expert on the subject. Finally, she held the children for hours of testing, they were having meltdowns and couldn't take anymore poking and prodding. Her response was to throw them a snack and push them to keep on going despite my voicing my concerns. This is not someone who should be dealing with people. This doctor prides themselves on "aggressive"… treatment - be prepared for tons of necessary testing, poking, prodding and being told that an MRI that was already done is not up to her standards.After all the aggravation and expense of making a special trip to see this "self proclaimed specialist", I can't in good faith recommend this doctor to anyone - THUMBS DOWN!
