Dr. Lauren Rubal, MD

Doctor Rubal is the best doctor I have ever had! I was so nervous the day of my first appointment and Dr. Rubal made me feel at ease. She forms a partnership with her patient and when it comes to infertility (which can be stressful and draining) she is a ray of light, hope and optimism. I am so thankful I found her. She makes you feel as though you are her only patient and takes the time to do what is best for you! I would totally recommend her.

When I think of Dr. Rubal, I think of kindness. During our 3.5 years as her patients experiencing infertility, Dr. Rubal always took her time to explain things to us, to give us choices, to make everything clear and completely understandable. Infertility is so painful but her thoughtfulness and relatability made it so much lighter of a burden. When we did get pregnant, it was so hard to say goodbye and transfer to our assigned OB-gyn. Even after we left, she checked on us and saw us in our next pregnancy just to confirm all was well. She goes above and beyond to make her patients feel heard and cared for. We are so thankful for her wisdom, expertise, and grace. Now that our son is here, we were so happy to joyfully introduce him to her as she has been so instrumental in helping us have a family. We are incredibly grateful.

My husband are currently struggling with reoccurring pregnancy loss. Dr. Rubal and her team of nurses are amazing. Dr. Rubal listens to every question you have and answers them so that you can understand. She also tailors everything to your needs. I drive an hour without traffic 2 hours with traffic just to see her. I will continue to drive that just to see her. She is one of the only doctors i have had that actually cares about her patients.

Dr. Rubal is the best when it comes to infertility and treatment. She is understanding, caring and thorough with her patients. She tailors her treatment to each individual and takes the time to explain everything so you are never left guessing about procedures. I credit her for helping my husband and I conceive

My husband and I have struggled with reoccurring pregnancy loss and were referred to Dr. Rubal for testing. From the very beginning of our journey with her, she was supportive, attentive, and sensitive to our situation. On our first meeting, she thoroughly explained what tests we were to complete and what they will tell us. She answered all of our questions with patience and care. Dr. Rubal’s medical expertise is impressive and her bedside matter like that of a friend rather than an aloof doctor. At our last appointment, she quickly problem solved an issue with grace and reassurance. She truly feels more like a supportive cheerleader who sincerely wants you to achieve your fertility goals. My husband and I are so blessed that we found her.

My husband and I were struggling with having a baby. From the very first appt with Dr. Rubal she made us feel like family, not just another patient. She went over our results with us and explained everything in a way we could understand it. After going through the egg retrieval and approached the transfer, I came down with pneumonia. Heidi, her nurse, was so great and reassured me it was ok and we would wait because we want everything to be right, for the transfer. We are beyond grateful for Dr. Rubals medical knowledge, bed side manner, and standards she holds herself too. We only had 1 egg survive and I know it’s because of her personal medical standards that we were able to announce the pregnancy and today, able to watch our little guy grow and reach his milestones. I appreciate and respect Dr. Rubal so much, I send her updates on our son and pictures and keep in touch. We are parents because of her. If you are looking for a Dr. that will treat you like family and not just… another patient, go see her and take all of her advice!

Writing a review for Dr. Rubal is like writing a review for a close, trusted friend. We began our infertility journey close to 5 years ago, and she’s been with us every step of the way. Through multiple rounds of IUI, and 4 rounds of IVF (2 of which we’re successful), Dr. Rubal has been the rock and the expert we needed. Her positivity helped us remain optimistic over the years, yet she never failed to be honest with news that was difficult to hear. She held our hand- both literally and figuratively, as we went through the ups and downs of trying to conceive. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and yet so friendly. My husband and I came to view her more as a family member through the whole process rather than just our doctor. She is the reason we have 2 healthy, amazing daughters, and we were devastated to have to leave her when our pregnancies progressed far enough along to go to a normal OBGYN. I cannot speak highly enough of her, and it’s almost worth around round of… treatment just so we can see her again. :)

It’s hard to put into words the impact Dr. Rubal has had on our lives and feel fortunate to have found such an exceptional doctor! With lots of ups and downs in our three year infertility journey, we couldn’t have persevered without her support. She offered expertise, professionalism, realistic expectations, peace of mind, and hope in some of our brightest and darkest moments which made some very emotional situations so much easier for us to handle. We had to surmount quite an uphill battle and some pretty difficult conversations to even get back to the point where we could try to get pregnant, but Dr. Rubal kept the big picture in mind as she made decisions with us, not for us, and inspired confidence within us to carry on. During our transition from IUIs to IVF, we had interviewed several other doctors and IVF clinics. Based on our experiences with that and our previous Kaiser background with her, Dr. Rubal’s genuine enthusiasm, passion for her profession, and explanations shined in… comparison so we unquestionably opted to stick with her as we switched from being her patients at Kaiser to Reproductive Fertility Center. Besides being incredibly upbeat and very personable, we appreciated how thorough she explained things (using drawings too!) and how consistently she communicated with us. This is often a very confusing process with many different approaches, procedures, medications, and terminology but she continuously did a great job of educating us and making us part of the decision making process. In fact, the whole team at RFC worked so well together to ensure we did not have to wait for our scheduled appointments, be rushed through any of our visits, and helped us obtain meds in the most cost-effective way. This was such a benefit because our situation was very complicated to say the least and Dr. Rubal was always very compassionate and acted in our best interest. Despite maintaining an incredibly hectic schedule, she often went out of her way to make sure that we were well taken care of and retained our humor, something we really valued! She was never distracted with the flurry of other demands on her time and, instead, continued to build a relationship with us. Dr. Rubal paired her skill, intuition, and progressive innovations to keep altering our treatment until we reached success. She was constantly up to date with medical research and used the latest information to come up with several “outside the box” methods to make our dream of starting a family come true. Being that we are now expecting, we can’t say that we will miss those early morning appointments involved in this process, but we will truly miss the kindness, encouragement, and dedication that Dr. Rubal provided us. We are so grateful to be able to continue to go through this journey because of her and hope we are lucky enough to find another doctor like her as we continue with our pregnancy. That doctor has some really big shoes to fill. We can’t ever thank you enough Dr. Rubal!
