Dr. Lauren Marie Ruggiero, MD

UNBELIEVABLE doctor. Caring, thorough, compassionate, and took the time to not only answer every question I had, but was reassuring in a scary situation (for me). She asked me additional questions where there were some gaps in the medical history. Unbelievable provider. I hope when I deliver she is on call. Above and beyond care.

Dr.Ruggiero is so sweet and she listens, very warm and welcoming!! First time being pregnant and she took amazing care of me during my prenatal appointments! Explained what all my appointments would entail , when I would be tested for certain things and was always quick to respond to my emails! She did not end up delivering my son but I did get to see her the day after in the hospital and it was great! I have recommended her to several friends already. Very professional and sweet! I’m so thankful !

Dr. Laura Ruggiero horrible person. Got to appt. 12 minutes late. From NJ and am dealing with my Dad also a NYU patient who has dementia. Waited 2 months for appointment and told to leave. Not being seen after 15 minutes late. REALLY? No compassion. I asked to speak to doctor and she refused to even come out. UNREAL. For years I waited and waited time and time again but there is NO room for patient. I wouldn't want her now anyway but it's a disgrace.

To acknowledge her mistakes that she made. The that was a incision that ended with a wound vac or colostomy bag. Blaming others for her mistakes was her best practice. Lauren thinks she’s above water and never takes ownership. Worked with her for four years and see quite a few of her patients succumb from her mistakes. She never apologized to families i only left their loved ones cold, alone and dead.

Doctor Ruggerio is not only a professional doctor, but is also very friendly and caring. She listens to all your concerns carefully no matter how trivial that is. She never tries to shut you up or show you that she is in hurry so that you do not ask more questions. She is excellent in responding the messages (I sent her few messages through my chart and got the response in few hours/minutes even). If she orders a test, once the result is out she send you a message telling you what the result is (even if she has to write your results are normal). This is not what all the doctors at cityscape does. She is so loving and friendly doctor. Unfortunately, she is always fully booked, so you cannot find slots to book for appointments with her. I strongly recommend her to everyone and wish she is the once who carries out my C-Section in few months.

I highly recommend Dr. Ruggiero. At her previous practice with 9 other doctors, she was the most helpful and had the best bed side manner. She was extraordinarily helpful when I miscarried and consistently checked on me during my subsequent pregnancy. She was always available to answer questions and truly went above and beyond, even delivering my son when she was not on call. She is a great doctor and a lovely person!

Dr. Ruggiero is a nice enough person, just a poor communicator. Office visits, which always involved the presences of a medical student, were rushed and she answered many of my questions by telling me to look at the patient education page on the ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) website. Prenatal tests and subsequent results were poorly explained. I'm sure NYU's 15min scheduling windows are as much to blame for my experience as Dr. Ruggiero. Regardless, I was not comfortable in her or NYU's care and switched both providers and hospitals.

She is the worst OBGYN at the NYU practice. She skips over all of the important parts of pregnancy and worries about stupid technical stuff. Definitely a COVER YOUR A** provider!!! The practice is difficult to schedule with and don't expect lab results or a call back if you have any issues.
