Meet Dr. Lauren Shanard, DDS
Dr. Shanard graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1988, followed by an intensive year-long Advanced General Dentistry Residency. She moved to the Burlington Vermont area and joined a group practice for 7 years. She opened Contemporary Dental Arts in 1995. Her practice is devoted to reconstructive, esthetic, and implant dentistry. She is proud to be able to share her passion and excellence for dentistry with her patients and colleagues and truly believes in the importance of not only a healthy smile but, a beautiful smile.
Dr. Shanard often completes an average of 100 hours of continuing education each year; focusing on advanced cosmetic dentistry, full mouth rehabilitation and implant dentistry. She will be attending upcoming courses on IV sedation and Implant studies. Upon completion and certification, she will be implementing these services in her office.
Dr. Shanard is a sustaining member of the American Academy of Cosmetic …Dentistry and is currently on the Accreditation tract. She is immediate past President of the New England Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and is also a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Vermont State Dental Society.
Dr. Shanard lives in Burlington, Vermont with her son Jacob, age 11. She is an expert alpine skier and loves water skiing in the summer. She is also an avid runner. Dr. Shanard enjoys a good glass of wine, relaxing with friends and mostly hanging out with her son either at home or in the mountains of Vermont.
