Dr. Laurence Joseph Greenwood, MD

Dr. Greenwood is bar none, THE best psychiatrist left in the world. Trust me, I've seen a LOT. I have a 32 year hx of MDD; severe, recurrent without psychotic features & treatment resistant. His allegiance to my continued treatment, his optimism that I will NOT be as crippled as I have been by this disease is a Godsend. His knowledge base & interest in the latest neuroscientific, psychiatric and other illnesses far surpasses that of ANY psychiatrist in the area, perhaps the entire world! In an era where you can predict what SSRI, SNRI or NDRI antidepressant your psychiatrist will prescribe, (based on the latest, newest one Big Pharma has out coupled with the sad fact that your doctor most likely IS receiving 'kickbacks'...you will NEVER EVER see a Big Pharma rep in his office, I swear. Other priorities of psychiatrists are: The Almighty $, triple-booking patients and spending 3-5 minutes on "monthly med management" appts are ALL things that Dr. Greenwood is firmly against. His main… concern is YOUR treatment, even if he takes more than the 15-30 minute slots he ALREADY alots for his patients, (no, this is NOT a joke!), his bedside manner, knowledge base, genuine care & concern for YOUR treatment & well being may be considered, "old school", but TRY to find a better psychiatrist...I guarantee that you WON'T!! I'm so blessed to have him as my psychiatrist for almost 20 years now that I jokingly tell him all the time that he is NOT allowed to retire ... EVER!!
