Dr. Laurie Beth Goldman, MD

Dr. Goldman is a good listener and truly a very caring psychiatrist. She also has a great staff. I would take off a half star, if I could, because she does not accept Medicare. Overall, I am very happy, comfortable, and trust her.

Have been seeing Dr Goldman for about 4 years now. I was having some anxiety problems and couldn't leave the house. Took awhile but I can now enjoy going places.

I would give her a zero if I could. I have 3 prescriptions that need authorization to refill. The pharmacy put in the request 7 days ago and there has been no response. So grateful that I have enough to tie me over for a few more days. This isn't the first time I have had problems with prescriptions. She has little interest in her psychiatry practice since she has started a holistic wellness business.

What a terrible practice! They are impossible to get a hold of. They don’t answer their phone or return phone calls. If you are looking for the support of a mental health provider go somewhere else! Save yourself the aggravation! Do not go to Dr Goldman!

Every session: I wait at least 1/2 hour. She has weird 'hippie' vibes. She plays wave sounds or something else weird. She spends most of the visit reviewing your prior visits. Then she asks you the same questions your next-door-neighbor would ask you. She re-asks you questions which tells me she's not listening. I asked her about weight gain and depression and she acted angry and wrote down a # to a diet counselor. She's in my network and close by but I'll look for someone else.

I saw her multiple times every year for 4 years and she literally asked me the same questions every time. She barely remembered who I was and we spent a lot of the time going over "whats new with me" which was basically her asking questions she could have found out if she spent 2 minutes reading my chart before hand (aka are you in school? are you working? where do you live? what are you majoring in?). She was also almost ALWAYS late.

I was with this doctor for years, many of them I wanted to find a different doctor but following my parents advice I stayed. As a young adult she rarely listened to what I had to say or Gave me any credit for knowing my body and how I am feeling. While I was under her care she put me on an anti-depressant and I immediately started having a bad reaction, I called her office they said she would get back to me even though I said it was an emergency. I ended up being hospitalized while my body got off the medication and she still didn't return my call for at least a week after I got out. She also put me medication that I became dependent on to sleep, when I tried to get off it because there were other health risks in me taking it she said that there was nothing else she could put me on and I would have to stay on it. That was my final straw I left and the next doctor easily found alternatives although I may never be able to sleep with out medication because of her.

I went to numerous psychiatrists before I was fortunate enough to find Dr. Goldman about 15 years ago. One of the things I most appreciate is that she partners with me instead of acting "all knowing" like most psychiatrists. She will give me recommendations (for a medication, etc.) , but if I have concerns about side effects or don't want to try it for whatever reason, that's OK. You may sit in the waiting room for a longer time than with others, but I know from experience that's because she is taking time with someone in crisis, and if I'm at that place, she'll take the same time with me. (She has an incredible choice of up-to-date magazines, so just relax and read while you're waiting!) :) She is now integrating medication with natural supplements and is holistic in her care -- but only if that's what YOU want. She completely changed my life with her up-to-date knowledge, her willingness to keep trying until we found the right combo, and her belief that "we're going to do this… together."

A remarkable and genuinely caring Doctor. Truly one of a kind!

Dr. Goldman always takes time with me. Her sincerity in every case is genuine (certainly in mine). Her training and skills are top. I haven't had a waiting room delay but I understand others may have. Dr. Goldman is spending the necessary time for difficult cases and I don't mind a short wait knowing that if I am ever in crisis, she will take the extra time to care for me. Too many patients these days think that M.D. appointments are set to a Swiss train schedule. The reality is that many patients arrive late and then are the same one's who need more time
