Dr. Laurie Michelle Gordon, MD

I was sent to Dr. Laurie Gordon at BIDMC Neurology after a series of neuromuscular symptoms that appeared to be auto-immune related (given past history). She ordered some blood work and a brain MRI but failed to contact me with the results. I eventually got my results from Shields MRI and 2 months later, still do not know my blood results which I presume were negative (as I would have expected). If I know one thing, it is that I do not have gluten sensitivity so not sure the purpose of that test. I am now being sent by my rheumatologist to a different neuromuscular doctor at BWH. I tried contacting Dr. Gordon's office several times and left several voicemails before giving up. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Most people that write a complaint are probably not ready to accept the diagnosis and Dr. Gordon makes the inevitable seem hopeful and realistic. From the first moment we met her, our family and her patient felt very comfortable and she is so well-informed and caring. We have had to call several times (always on a weekend) and we got a call back within 15 minutes and a followup the next day. We know it will be a tough road ahead and it will be hard, but it is nice to know that someone cares.

Dr. Gordon is very thorough and respectful and has a pleasant personality. I feel very comfortable putting my neurological problems in her care. Everything she has recommended and/or prescribed has been helpful. She also helped me understand the historical issues associated with my nonfatal disease.

I would not recommend her. Her heart and mind are not in her job. She has a narrow view of the systems of the body and does not explain things very well. She has this attitude problem that can be off-putting. I would get a second opinion and see if someone else can communicate better then she does.

This physician does not take the time to hear patients, and collaboration is unprofessional. Poor quality of office visit.

Dr. Gordon greeted me in the waiting room and helped me feel very welcome. She administered a thorough exam with excellent patient care and attention. She sat down with me and drew a diagram of my issue which was very helpful. I am very impressed with this quality physician.
