Dr. Laurie Jo Polubinsky, MD

Dr. Polubinsky claims "Lupus doesn't cause pain or fatigue." Fentynal does not cause withdrawals. FACT: "Klonipin if abruptly stopped does not cause withdrawals or seizures." According to her, so why does my PDR say something TOTALLY different and my pharmacist. Or and "none of my meds should effect my coumadin." I don't care if you are a MD, you will kill me. Wants to mess around with meds and try meds that I know do not work and new ones that have bleeding warnings. Umm, NO! Stick with what is working. I have enough problems, this is NOT one of them. Change my rx back because you are FIRED. You have a strong history of this behavior across many states and many facilities. Similar complaints throughout. I didnt look you up until I got home. Totally validated that I was not alone in the abuse. No, it is not being non-compliant. It is called self preservation. You are what we call a job hopper. Admin of this hospital got a report. How you got past HR is beyond me! Beware!

This woman absolutely should NOT be allowed to see patients. She was verbally abusive, disrespectful, and outright lied to another provider involved in my care. When I would try to speak she would often put her palm up to me and say, "talk to the hand." She treated me the same when my family sat in, but It's funny how she changed dramatically when I had a patient representative in the room for our appointment. I was honestly traumatized by the care I received from her during my inpatient stay, and that is not an exaggeration.

She told she didn't think I had what I thought I had and what my last doctor was treating me for. She said she thought it was something else. This was hard to hear, but she turned out to be right. As a result of her willingness to take the risk of telling me I was wrong about what was going on. Later, my meds stopped working, and she got me on something that's been working for a long time now. I saw a lot of negative reviews for her. She doesn't pull any punches, but she got my diagnosis right, and my life is totally different as a result. If I need someone to be super nice to me, I'll call my grandma. When I need my medication adjusted, I go see Laurie. She's 2 for 2 with me. Thanks, Laurie!

If I could give zero stars, I would! Someone needs to take her license away. There is absolutely no reason she should be practicing and others seem to feel the same. She made me feel worthless and stupid, far from what I need since I was going in for suicidal thoughts. If I had read the other reviews before going with the first doctor that had an appointment, I would NOT have gone to her. Absolutely awful and discouraging experience.

I saw dr. pulabinski in 2001 when she was in Dubuque Iowa. I was in a major depression. She worked with me through several medications until we got the right ones. Being able to live your life and fully engage in it is truly a blessing. With Dr. pulabinski'so help I made it there. Yes, she is brusk. I liked that about her. To the point, no skirting the issue and dancing around it. She doesn't put u in a bubble and just tells you what the issue is and works with your other Drs and meds they also prescribed for me. I've been to a few psychiatrists before and since her that made me appreciate her even more. She spent an hour with me initially, always getting to the symptoms and finding the ones I didn't realize were symptoms. As full disclosure, I am BiPolar II. She gave me a new then new medication. I have now been on it for 12 years and living my life fully. The only reason I left Dr. P's care is because I moved to North Carolina. While my Dr. Here is great...I miss Dr. P!

This so called doctor will throw pills at you after talking with her for 5 minutes and not even tell you what it is for. She is rude, nasty. Funny, I think she is a psycho path with a license also. I don't know where she got her degree but someone needs to check it out. Very unprofessional. Please take yourself or a family member somewhere else she is awful. I do not recommend. Very unhappy to have wasted a dime with this so called help. I'd give zero stars.

She isn't afraid to walk all over you. If you ever have to deal with her you'll have to be willing to stand up for yourself and fight back against her abuse. A few minutes with her and you'll be hurt to the core for months or years to come. The common response from other psychiatrists about Polubinsky is confusion and frustration with her handling of patients. Doesn't have the respect of her peers.

This doctor shares information with others without permission. Uses her position to intimidate patients. Terrible communication, Questions your intelligence. Medical records upon examination unprofessional and difficult for others (doctors) to interrupt. She is under qualified for some of the positions she has obtained and needs to be monitored. Very unprofessional, does not have a compassionate bone in her body. My experience was not standard of care and deeply regret having to see this psychiatrist. These are my feelings in regards to this doctor and may not be yours but I wouldn't waste time seeing her.

I think Dr. P is great. She has a no nonsense approach that may be a little distracting but only because she wants to do her own diagnosis and not just continue what another Dr. started. I was on the same medication for years and really did not feel great. My Psychiatrist retired and they informed me that I would have to find another doctor because the remaining doctors did not have room for me. I am so glad that happened. Dr. P spent time asking me questions and doing a thorough diagnosis. She changed my medication and it is the first time in years that I've actually felt great. I had forgotten how that felt. She is a compassionate person who only wants whats best for you. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to feel better.

I would like to begin by saying Dr. Polubinsky, has great compassion. She is very easy to talk to and has been a great help with my anxiety issues. I have seen Dr. Polubinsky at different times and I feel that I am on my way to a better life because of her. Thank you.
