Dr. Laurie A Rice, MD, PhD

I had a horrible experience with this physician. I went to Laurie Rice because I needed forms filled out for a volunteering opportunity with my vaccination records and general physical measurements. Dr. Rice did not properly read my form, nor the example form I gave her, and ordered extraneous bloodwork. I am now being held responsible for paying for this bloodwork that I did not actually consent to. She also filled out the form extremely wrong and I had delayed onboarding because of her carelessness. Lastly, she billed me for a full office visit when I came in to get a vaccine, even though she was running extremely late and I had to leave right as she was coming in. Avoid at all costs!

Laurie Rice, MD was my PCP for a few years before my health insurance ended. She is thorough and spends time listening to me. She is caring and friendly.

I waited for this doctor for over an hour. I never saw her come out and take other patients. When I saw all the walk-in patients start to get called in to other doctors, I knew this was getting ridiculous. I asked the receptionist if Dr. Rice was even in the office. She paged the doctor and nothing. I asked if I could switch doctors. The receptionist was rude and said it would be a headache since I had an appointment with Dr. Rice. The other male receptionist was nice and told me he would get me another doctor. Literally 10 seconds later, another doctor came and took me right in. I will not try to make an appointment with Dr. Rice ever again.

I came to Dr. Rice with symptoms that could be difficult diagnosing, that is a fact. Although, the way Dr. Laurie Rice treated me made leave her office feeling even worse than when I walked into it. I thought that doctors were taught to be compassionate, non-judgmental, and to have at least a reasonable good bedside manner. Apparently, Dr. Rice missed those classes.

I was lucky enough to get Dr. Rice during my first walk-in. I have since viewed her as my primary-care physician. First and foremost is her competence; like most laymen I am not really qualified to judge a doctor's medical knowledge, but my experience with her, and my intuition tell me she is a great doctor. Secondly is her attitude and demeanor - she will put you at ease and make you feel comfortable. Finally is her concern for the patient. She will never make you feel rushed or that you are getting superficial treatment. When she leaves the examining room it will because you have asked all your questions and have gotten full and complete answers. Frankly Dr. Rice is what we all look for when we're sick: a really good person who also happens to be a great doctor!

i have been seeing Dr. Rice for over 5 years for general health issues that come up and physicals. she works in the walk in clinic also, so i am able to see her for minor emergencies and rely on her to be available. if i call her, she calls me back within 2 hours, and always has time to sit with me and discuss whatever issues come up. i also recently sent a friend to the walk in to see her, and she really helped my friend out. i highly recommend her.

I complained about my back aching. She told me it was my abdomen. Phone calls to speak with her were never returned. Not a good physician at all. I promptly changed Primary care docs.
